Which fighters do you see beating Corrie Sanders?

I'd picture quite a few of Wlad's defences could of beaten that version of Sanders.

Rahman of course did beat Sanders when they fought, though he was well past his best when he fought Wlad. But prime for prime Rahman proved he was the better fighter.

Brewster may have been too durable for Sanders to KO early and would gas under the constant pressure and then be stopped much like when Brewster beat Wlad. Peter could also do the same though he might take him longer.

Then guys like Jennings, Pulev, Povetkin, Thompson I would also favour over Sanders. Haye as well, he was elusive enough to not get KO'ed against a prime Wlad, I think he can survive Sanders early onslaught and then KO Sanders.

There was a few others as well that could have probably beat him, Sanders was never that good and the version Wlad beat had not fought in over a year.

Plenty could, this thread is absurd.

    3 bad nights
    in 68 fights
    10 year reign
    and still remain
    The King of the Ring
    Time to move on
    From past mistakes
    Its never too late
    To improve
    and find your groove
become the man your meant to be
    fulfill your destiny
    the haters have been
    Wrong for a decade on
    yet they still go on
    about a few bad nights
    in 68 fights

Iggy, Chagaev, and Brewster have the best chance.

so how come no atgs have these "bad nights" where they lose to fringe contenders and fat retiree nobodies?

  7. Baba Duke

    Baba Duke Guest

No two all time great careers are the same
And I know your sad little game
I will list upsets to other ATGs
And you will argue the degree
    Rather pointlessly
    It is to lose unceremoniously
    To these lesser men
that make history over and over again
Journeyman, A contender on the Fringe,
Sparring partner, A coke head on a binge,
An underdog, a lower tier contender,
A modern cruiser, a light heavyweight pretender,
    Fat, skinny, short
Ill prepared, pre prime, bad night, injured, no difference
The bad times don't define greatness
    never have, never will,
It is all about the overall career
I have question for you Mr. Gee,
    Can you name another heavy
who ruled for a decade to the age of forty
taking on all contenders of race, size, and ability?

Babba, this is stupid stuff !
It's time to stop, enough's enough
This fukin' dreadful verse you make
just gives us all the belly ache.
We know that you're a fan of Wlad
and that itself is nothing bad
But harken here, oh Baby Duke
Your poetry makes some folks puke,
And does no service to the man
    who stops opponents with élan.
If praise you must, this boxing gent,
your time would be far better spent
    discussing knock-downs and KOs,
and sticking to more simple prose
    And just ignore ol' HerolGee
As you will come, in time, to see
that he's a rather hapless soul,
at best, a twit; at worst, a troll.
For if, indeed, the truth be known,
The man has problems of his own.
Things at home have come unbuckled
since the dude became a cuckold
Forget ol' Herol and his bile
and contemplate, for just a while,
    writing in a different style.
There's still a lot you can achieve
And now, alas, I have to leave.

    I can say with confidence
    Nobody in history
    Has witnessed such dominance

    Rap style?
    Oh how, juvenile

If your going to insult my verse
You should have bothered to rehe****
    Preposterous Shakespearean prose
When read aloud, such dreadful noise
But oh the images it conjures
    I wander
Did you recite to the wind
    The battlements of evening
    Thrilling your skin
Did you laugh a little, nigh
    How clever, did you cry
    Composing your symphony
    By Candle Light
    In dainty romantic delight
Oh the waves, the waves, to thee
    I cast asunder
The gods above, hear my plea
    What rhymes with Duke
    Can it be
    The clouds parting above me
    Divine inspiration
    A perverse word for regurgitation
    Puke...that's it!
    Puke rhymes with Duke!
Oh nobody has thought to do this before
A true original, they will adore

Bravo, Bravo, I sneer and clap
At least your poem was not total ****

Sanders is generally really underrated on these boards. He faced three top 10 hws in his career, all three were, at some point in their career, top 3 hw's. He decisively beat one, put spirited performances against the other 2. He nearly beat Rahman and anyone watching it I think would be hard pressed to credibly argue that Sanders wouldn't have won at least 2 fights out of 5 against Rahman.

I think at this point Povetkin has done so much that he warrants designation as the best prime fighter Wlad has ever faced. And I do think he'd probably beat Sanders. Someone with top chin, good defense, good power, and great stamina, all of which Povetkin has, would be tough for Sanders to beat. So, I'd pick Povetkin and Peter to beat Sanders. I think Chaggy, Brewster, and actually Jennings would have had a decent chance. I'd pick him over everyone else.

You have to bear in mind, in 20 years nobody else has done that to WK. Purritty and Brewster he just gassed out despite being ahead on cards. Sanders never let him settle for a second or even get into the fight. It's the most outstanding hw performance since Douglas 90' and maybe even better given what WK went onto achieve. Tyson was over as a dominant force after Douglas.
