Thats the funniest part though; I don't know about you but my arugments with people about MMA last all of 5 seconds. I just say something like "name 5 different weight divisions in boxing", or "name 10 different boxers". Then when they can't its argument over because they don't know **** about boxing so how can they talk it down? Problem solved :good

hey, where do you study? i'm a fratman myself in UP.:deal

Yeah, in my circle of friends no one knows boxing unless we're talking about pacquiao. they even mistake the three mex barrera, morales and marquez for one another. some of my friends who know i love to watch boxing would ocassionally bring up a conversation about boxing that they read from a newspaper only to my disappointment because they don't really know much and wouldn't make for an interesting conversation for me. the only one who knows as much and eager to watch would be my father, he leaves in the province and i would phone him regularly everytime a fight is on TV.

in my frat, they talk more about mma than boxing. they love the slam bang-over the top aura of UFC but wouldn't appreciate the class of boxing.

yea I got one friend who is a pretty interested boxing fan and another friend who used to like boxing but stopped arpund 2003, so he only knows jones, mayweather, mosley, wright, guys who were big aound that time. Everyone else I know is limited to tyson, de la hoya, and that "annoying black guy he just lost to". lol The new talk of the town is Rampage jackson, serra, st pierre, lidell, and kimbo sadly. I gotta admit kimbo is pretty damn entertaining.

It does suck man because boxing is my life and very few of my friends share the passion with me. Although i have hyped up the Cotto/Margarito fight so my friends are interested and know they wont be dissapointed and hopefully get them interested in the sport. As long as i can drive them away watching two mediocre skilled fighters rolling around in the ground hugging each other doing softcore porn in a cage its all good.

i deal poker in a casino and you would be astounded at the % of young males who are into MMA... i'd say it's well over 50%... as for boxing, they all despise it

having said that, i have close friends who all like boxing but i would say none as much as i do

    In a word yes.

But my other mates all watched Hatton - Mayweather and Calzaghe - Hopkins.

Watching it with them, and with them pretending to know about boxing is painfull, as I am sure most of you know.
