Funny, even though the internet didn't exist back then, can you imagine this thread back in the early eighties? Boxing was huge.

Also, its weird but women seem to be more open to boxing than men.

Mostly yes. Only my Mexican homies really love boxing the black ones only like the really big fights. The white ones don't care for boxing at all only UFC bull****.

I had a friend who would train with me from time to time. He had fun landing shots on me during sparring sessions. He doesn't follow the sport but he enjoys the workouts

I have a small circle of friends who like boxing as much as I do. But usually it's me and two others on big fight nights. Sometimes more if that tranny DLH is involved.

I never have a problem finding a place to watch a fight. Wether it's my uncles, my cousins, my friends, at a mom and pop restaurant.

Put it this way, at family gatherings, talking about boxing is like talking about the weather. We do it to break silence.

They're mostly casual fans, whom only know of the fighters (besides the big names) because of me.

This is the only place I can talk about boxing, there is almost nobody that I know that has even heard of Pavlik,Cotto, manny Pac. etc. I think boxing had such a great decade in the 90's it will never be able to repeat. After the Tyson,RJJ, ODL era most people can't even name a heavyweight belt holder right now. Most people in my area are into MMA.

What's HNU, Hawaii Normal University? Holy NAmes University in Bohol?
Nothing beats watching a fight with my father. i remember when i was still in high school he would let me skip classes on fridays and he wouldn't go to his job so we could watch fights together on tv.
and i still won't forget his silly look after hopkins beat tito trinidad. i thought he would cry.:deal

then in college, naahh..there is not one single soul who would watch and talk boxing with me. damn college kids would rather watch athletics and tennis than a boxing slugfest. the only fightfans i know were MMA fans who were former WWE geeks when they were in high school.

Pretty much, but I have multiple groups of friends. The biggest complaint from the people I know who used to like Boxing is all the terrible (fixed) decisions/calls that give the fight to the wrong fighter over the last couple decades. That **** just kills a casual fan's desire to watch another fight I guess.

I talk about boxing with My Brother-in-Law, He is a casual fan and is more into Khan than Hatton on ppv (His first fight at my place was Collazo).
I find it hard to have a decent conversation with people i know because there isn't much on terrestrial tv, it's all Satelite and not every body will
    1. Spend the cash or
    2. sit up untill 5 o'clock in the morning for a big Vegas fight.
