your argument is flawed. I bring to your attention Nitro fight night formats of 2 min rounds. Why are pros fighting 2 min rounds like amateurs when they should be fighting 3 min rounds? can you answer this question?

i have the same opinion for pros who fight 2 minute rounds. Women fight 2 minute rounds. I don't mind pros fighting 2 minute rounds for the first couple fights. But after that if you cant fight 3 minutes you shouldn't be a pro. 1 minutes rounds is just sad for an experienced amateur.

and im pretty sure nitro boxing night are all 4 rounders with 3 minute rounds.

and the nitro night is just for tv, it entertaining for people watching at home. Its more a gimmick so people who don't usually watch boxing will watch it because there is more action with the shorter round when they do fight 2 minutes.

Whats wrong with pro's fighting 2 minute rounds?? Is this something new to you??

Famechon used to fight 12x 2 minute round main events. As did most great fighters back to god knows when. Rose, Palmer, Richards.... you name 'em.

im talking about professional boxing, whether its a title fight or not. Any title whether its a state title, regional title, aussie title, world title is 3 minute rounds. If they are professional athletes they should be fighting 3 minute rounds. That's my opinion. You only see guys who are unfit or not capable to do 3 minutes rounds fighting 2 minute rounds these days.

same goes with the amateurs, who the hell fights 1 minute rounds after 20+ fights. If you cant do 2 minutes your trainer shouldn't allow you too fight. Your not fit to box.

    ps. your joke was lame.

Im also talking about professional boxing. Sometimes managers/promoters read between the lines and realise that, for the betterment of the game, two blokes would be better to square of and fight 10 x 2's rather than 8 x3's. Those with brains (ashley well and truly excluded) will project some thought to the bouts which lay ahead for different fighters- especially their own. A little bit of salvation may come from 2 minute rounds for a leg weary fighter when future matches are around the corner. Not every fight is a title fight, therefore common sense must prevail. No shame in a fighter being put into 10x 2's if he's a little rusty, having a fill in fight etc.

1 minute rounds?? Am I talking to you about 1 minute rounds??

    Glad you liked the joke.

two minute rounds in the pro's, if both fighters train for two minute rounds, can make for an exciting, fast paced fight with plenty of action. A fighter fit for two minute rounds theoretically should be able to punch non stop as two minutes is the upper limit of straight anaerobic capacity, with a one minute break adequate for a fit person to fully recover, any longer and there need s to be breaks in between spurts of activity.

i don't often see fighter fighting 10x2, they usually use the 2 minute rounds as a 4x2 or a 6x2 which is the same as a 4x3 bu they get more rest. I never see fighters with a high punch output for 10x2 rounds, if they are fit enough to punch non stop for 10x2 they wouldn't bother with 2 minute rounds they would just fight 3 minute rounds.
if fighter has a big fight around the corner and they want to keep active they don't usually pick the 2 minutes rounds they just pick a **** opponent. Because if they have a big fight around the corner which is 3 minute rounds, how is 2 minute rounds going to benefit them for that fight?

and what if the person hasnt been training for a year and is not fit to do 2 min rounds, you think based on experiance alone a bloke whos not trained for a year should be able to jump right in a fight an active fighter over 2 or 3 min rounds? jesus i hope your not a trainer.

if a fighter hasn't trained for over 1 year and cant do 2 minutes rounds he shouldn't get in the ring and his trainer shouldn't allow him to fight if he isn't fit. You should be fit enough to do the rounds every time you fight.

Does 10x 2' one month before a Commonwealth title count?? Is a Commonwealth title a big fight?

If you're having a big fight in a month or two... yeah.. why not warm up with a **** opponent??? Ever wonder why the like's of Dib become the '**** opponent' when facing class O/S.

so why did your trainer allow you to fight if you weren't fit?
