Montiel smashing Hasegawa was something that shat all over the form book. Shocking watching it unfold. And sad :|
Picking one I'm sure no one else will mention or maybe even remember,,, Ernie Terrell started promoting in Chicago again in the late 70's and convinced a local standout named Walter Moore to jumpstart his career. Moore was a poor man's Joe Frazier, although with some boxing skills,in shape, and was a former tailgunner in Vietnam who was reportedly very tough. Moore started off beating the midwest trialhorses and was working his way up in class as he built a strong reputation in the heartland states. He was offered a fight on a Vegas undercard and took it against Terrell's advice, though,...... Roy "Tiger" Williams KO6 Walter Moore The way the local guys in Indy spoke about him, I thought he was a shoo-in to stay afloat until he got to Holmes or Weaver....
Liston- Clay I I was 19 years old and remember the fight well. Shocked wasn't the word for it. Tyson- Douglas didn't surprise me nearly as much as the Liston-Clay fight.
