I was the only person I knew who thought that Toney Bellew might beat David Haye.

I looked at their respective preparations for the fight and smelled an upset.

I don't know why you would say that.

Are you telling me i picked Mormecks, Pianeta , Wach , Jennings , Leapai etc to beat Wlad... I can tell you right now i did not.

You picked Povetkin and Pulev off the top of my head.

It was getting to be a bit of a ritual that you would pick Wlad's opponent to beat him, then give him no credit when the opposite happened.

I thought it was a 55% 45% fight in favour of Haye because of his power ,but his lack of real action meant Bellew had a shot.

Picking favorites to win is not what this is about.

I picked Toney to dominate Holyfield.
Ward to win the Super 6. (He had like 1:6 odds back then.)
    Calzaghe over Lacy.
I think I either picked Raheem to beat Morales or thought it would be very close.

    You weren't alone.

I'm a pac fan and I predicted he would lose to Oscar, Ricky, and Miguel.

After that, I didn't pick against him again till Floyd.

I didn't think it was likely that Hearns would knock Barkley out in the first round, and if he came out trying Barkley would hit his body hard. I thought 6-7 at first but my friend made me mad so I changed my prediction to 3.

Foreman vs Frazier I. I saw the fight on closed circuit in Austin, TX....and when the ref was giving the final instructions, and George told Joe "I am going to whup you like I'm your Daddy" and Joe blinked, then most people there at the CC knew Joe was going to be in for a long night. (The Houston newspaper had a pre-fight quote from George stating "he had fought tougher guys in Houston's Fifth Ward than Frazier")

I picked BHop over Tito, and couldn't understand, even a little bit, how anybody could have any other pick in that fight.

I know a guy who bet Bellew in the correct round (11?) but he doesn't really follow boxing and has a reputation for betting on insane long shots (the guy isn't me). The odds were huge but he only bets a couple of quid at a time.

Wake me up when the 'fights you called wrong' thread is made.

Tipped that one myself but for pretty tenuous reasons. I saw an ad for the upcoming fight and Hopkins looked absolutely ripped whereas Tito just looked kind of flabby. I just thought the taller, more muscular guy who was a natural at the weight was going to win, plus Hopkins did a great mind job pre-fight as well.

In saying that I didn't think it would be the beat down that it was either.
