That italian ref was a JOKE - 116-112 for Valuev are you kidding me. I guess that his fat *** felt jealous by the way Evander looked and fought.

It was robbery. Evander and the boxing world should demand a rematch, and this time have it here at home where there is no chance of a ripoff. Great post. I'm glad there are good honest sensible boxing writers on this forum. I consider Evander, the last of the classic Heavyweight fighters. I purchased the fight, and I was recording it, thinking I was recording history. I recorded grand larceny.

no no no. I just ment, in my opinion, that it was so clear that holyfield won. Everyone should say what they think and believe, otherwise it´s nothing fun. Perhaps I chosed the wrong word, but I think he won clear.

That 116-112 for Valuev was a joke.......

As the final round ended, I turned to my brother and told him, "I have Valuev winning two rounds and another two rounds even. The judges will find a way to give the fight to Valuev. The best Evander will get is a draw out of this".......

.....then the first scorecard was read and it was even....I told my brother, "see here it comes!"

Then when the second card was read 116-112, " I told my brother, "that score can only be for Holyfield, no way can the judges give a 116-112 for Valuev out of that performance....... and quickly the last card read 115-114......and when Buffer said " and winner by majority decision"....because of that 116-112 score, I assumed it could only be for Holyfield....I went ahead and yelled, " and new".......but Michael Buffer said, "and still!":patsch

How in hell can a judge sit there and pretend that he saw Valuev win 8 rounds is beyond me!:-(

True. Everyone has an opinion. Forums are made for opinions. That is the way forums are made. But in life there is just truth and not the truth. Evander was robbed. He won that fight. He should be champion. He won it. And that is truth.

Let me just say, If someone says Evander should not have won, that is an opinion. But, if you say Evander won that fight, then that is fact and truth. No other way you can look at it.

Great post! I thought the same way like you. No way 116-112 for Valuev, so I thought for sure Evander had won. But, it wasn't the case. I hope the boxing wolrd will demand a rematch, and they fight again this summer here at home. Let's demand it.

describing Valuev as a "champ" is sick and wrong.

The guy is joke, a disgrace, an embarrasment to the meaning of the word.

That was exactly my line of reasoning as well! :good

Too bad the verdict had nothing to do with reason.

    agreed

Holyfield was robbed, no doubt about it. I'm sorry for Valuev as well, because he is a really nice guy outside the ring and I'm convinced that he knows that he lost yesterday. Immediately after the fight ended Valuev bowed before Holy. This wasn't only respect that he showed, no, he also knew that he lost the fight. Well, the scorecards said something different...very bad decision.

This match could have gone wither way in my oppinion. There were a lot of rounds that were hard to score because none of the fighters did anything. To say that the decision was scandalous is ridiculous. Holyfield as the challenger didn't do enough to win the belt pure and simple.

Especially after the 5th round they either traded punches or Valuev won. In my oppinion this was a draw.

I was obviously rooting for Holyfield, but scored the fight very objectively. I had the first round even. I had Holyfield up by 1 point, if I had scored the first round for Holy he would have won by 2 points. Obviously there were some very close rounds, but Holyfield started way better, was more active and scored the clearer, more telling punches. Valuev basically didn't do **** except for some middle rounds. No way Valuev won this fight. So it's not about giving Holyfield the win in a close fight because he is a legend, no, Holyfield deserved the win.

I just think it's unbelievably sad that a magic night for boxing got ruined by incompetent scoring from the judges.

You double standards are horrible when It's a fighter you like.

Ruiz In the 1st fight was robbed and won the fight by 8 rounds. He actuall didn't cheat that night.

Valuev fought so badly I though the fight might be fixed and he´d already agreed to lose it. That theory went out the window when he got the decision.

I´m sure Chagaev will soundly defeat Valuev again when that fight comes off. Either Klitschko would also humiliate Valuev.

He fought like a man that knew if he just stayed on his feet would win. So, yeah, he fought like that cuz he already knew...:deal
