It was a damn shame taking his immortality, taking his 5th title and oldest champion record. They took his name from the history books.I hope people will look back and now the real winner.
Exactly Holyfield threw the most meaningful shots Valuev didnt land one meaningful shot in the fight, and that is the truth not any where on the tape will you look and find Valuev nailing Evander with a solid left hook or right hand or uppercut.
I wish I had the passion to want to see Holyfield fight again. There are not many posters in any boxing forum who's as big a Holyfield fan as I am....... Holyfield should have walked out of that ring deservedly with a World Title belt strapped around his waist....... .......but I dont want to see a Holyfield rematch with Valuev, or Holyfield fight anyone for that matter. Holyfield is'nt even the shell of the fighter he once was, and my heart aches everytime I see him fight......wanting him to do the things he once did, but knowing deep inside its just not a possibility.:?
Both guys did nothing worthy. The weakest heavyweight title fight I have ever seen. I do not think there was a robbery. Neither did much but I gave it 7:5 to Valuev based on the fact that Holyfield was doing track and field contest. Holyfield never even try to KO Valuev. You cannot win a title like that.
Having watched the blasted thing twice in a row...no, no I can definitely say you're totally wrong there at least. Left hooks no, but short right hands and uppercuts most definitely. Now whether you consider that enough for Valuev to have won or lost is a different matter, but you can't pretend he didn't land with anything but jabs.
