Outside of Floyd, who is the best "pure" boxer at the moment?

    A boxer with solid defence, good counterpunching skills, using angles, able to find openings, etc etc. Any weightclass.

    but he can box, he prefers to come forward and fight but he is a good all round boxer.

    JMM is one of the best pure boxers i've ever seen. He is as textbook as you'll see.

    What on earth are you talking about? Both him and his brother have major holes in their defence, are not great counterboxers, are slower... Not even close...

    I like Joan guzman though, he's the guy behind Floyd if you ask me...

    He has never had good defence, and he does not box that well off the back foot. He cannot be mentioned amongest the best "pure" boxers now or ever.

    probably not the best but he is a good pure boxer. he does counterpunch well when he needs to and does punch from good angles.

    He counterpunches competently. He never looks as comfortable on his toes boxing as he does plowing forward pressuring his opponents, throwing fast combinations.

    Look at the difference between a pure boxer who can come forward, Hagler for example as he is in your avater, when he boxes and Mosley when he boxes.
