I'm not hater man, I think Usyk is an extraordinary fighter but his resume at heavyweight does not suggest he can beat every style of champion. Styles make fights and I try to keep things balanced.

The southpaw stance would take away Holme's jab.

Yup, I've heard that said and yet this is not always the case. Yes it makes it less effective but it doesn't nullify it and in my opinion, Holmes is more crafty, more skillful fighter than Usyk and his jab will still play a part. Holmes left is so educated he might not even use his jab as an offensive weapon instead as a parry, pushing Usky to his inside, slipping outside the Southpaw jab and coming over it with his big straight right, working the body with his left.

Re 'roided' Tyson. For me peak Tyson was a very small window, from just before till not long after he won the title. Maybe from '86 till late '87 when he beat Biggs and Holmes, his signature wins in my humble opinion. This Tyson was somewhere anout 216/218 and he was an anomaly, a lean ball of fast twitch muscle...and he looked similar in his mid teens. Was he juiced? I don't know. But I'd say he was more likely juiced post prison and that was nowhere near a peak tyson.

Funny I always thought Holmes would be stylistic hell for Usyk because of his boxing ability and right cross.

I don't think anyone in history can fight everyone listed and come out undefeated. Thinking of the matchups one on one though is tough because Usyk's volume, chin, and boxing ability makes him damn near impossible to beat on cards. I'd put my money on Holmes simply because he is a fellow master boxer with a good output and an educated right hand.

I wouldn’t write off Ali, I wouldn’t write off prime Lewis (but Lewis never fiought any top class south paws), I definitely wouldn’t write off prime Big Daddy Bowe.

Bowe beats Usyk I think. Big guy, great engins, sloppy but effective output inside and out, like a (much) better Fury...and Fury DID have Usyk a bit bamboozled in their first fight. If he had real power hed probably have stopped him. And Bowe can bang.

I know you guys are really big on completely ignoring context when it comes to fighters like Usyk, Loma and co, whilst simultaneously being very big on factoring in and making sure to remind us of every little piece of it when it comes your fearsome fire-breathing dinosaur boxing idols from previous eras and your unbeatable North American gods, all of whom you literally have and freely hand out a million excuses for their losses and just as many free passes for everything they did or the didn't do whether it be

Jacking themselves with PED to achieve 'greatness' and help them bridge the gap become multi-weight champions which FTR is an awful lot of these multi-weight champions did, including so many of your heroes

Being extremely dirty serial cheats who enter the ring with five weapons as opposed to the legal two and who so much of their success and 'greatness' is attributed to their incessant fouling and cheating

Being leprechaun slaying massive weight bullies who, unlike Usyk and Loma who are actually fighting bigger, much or way bigger opponents when they ascend through the divisions and have to overcome huge physical disadvantages, not still being way, much, or bigger when they ascend through the divisions or are roughly the same size as their opponents in their 3rd, 4th, 5th or even 6th division

KO punching or legit banger avoiding iron-jawed frauds whose chins are deemed iron even though they invariably got KTFO when they actually did start facing opponents who could actually punch

Being unethical have gloves won't travel deck-stacking loaded dice rolling female dogs who despite having the deck already stacked in their favour need to cripple or weaken their opponents the negotiating table with catchweights, rehydration clauses

And if these oh so brave warriors do ever dare dust off their passports and travel once in their careers you pin a Medal of Honor onto their lapels for doing so even though when they do, in complete contrast to foreigners competing in world title fights over in the US who are 9 times out of 10 fighting on a deck heavily stacked against them with a home ref and three home judges, the officials have to come from neutral countries or at least have fair representation with a judge from their country, a judge from their opponent's country and one from a neutral one because it would be terribly unfair if they weren't

But for the umpteenth time, Usyk was four months away from turning 35 when he became a world champion at HW, 37 when he became undisputed, and is currently 38.5 and come tomorrow will become the 6th oldest HW champion of all time, is the 3rd oldest unified champ, the 2nd oldest undisputed, and if he manages to beat the tag-team of Dubois and Father Time and is still champ in 3 months from now will be the 5th oldest HW champion of all time, the 2nd oldest unified champ, and the oldest ever undisputed HW champion.

So in short, Usyk has been past his prime for years and the prime version was very noticeably faster, sharper, more agile, with quicker reflexes and reaction times and with faster, more fluid and accurate combinations and when you couple those prime version of attributes with his supreme skills, excellent chin and defence, great engine, physical strength, very respectable power, southpaw style, indomitable win to win, and one thing which somehow eludes you all, his versatility

He can walk you down and outbox you or beat you up on the front foot

He can stand in front of you and box your ears off using lateral movement stepping back and making you miss by an inch before stepping back in again

And he can get up on his toes and use the ring to outbox you

All whilst remaining defensively responsible or being very elusive and difficult to pin down and catch

At his best, Usyk possesses every attribute and intangible needed to pose any HW in history real problems and whilst he likely wouldn't go unbeaten vs them all he would win more than his fair share IMO and he's a lot better and would fare a lot better vs them than you guys think he is and unlike so many of your favs and idols he didn't need to do or not do the things I outlined earlier in my post to help him get the W and achieve greatness.

The question you have to ask yourselves is why did your guys need to resort to such measures/desperate and unethical measures to get the W and achieve 'greatness' for themselves and moreover why do you afford them a free pass for doing so as you sink your talons into truly honourable fighters like Usyk?

Surely this should drive you absolutely insane, Adam? Have you foaming at the mouth and seething with rage?

Straight from his own mouth. How disrespectful and insulting it is to the greats coming from the mouth of someone whose best wins as of now in 41 fights, 40 of which in his home country, are Postol, Spence, Porter, Gamboa and Burns and who has very often been the much or bigger man, rarely the smaller one, and extremely rarely if ever at all much smaller, let alone way smaller, is the same size as his opponent he will be facing in his 6th division, and has never been at a reach disadvantage in any of his world title fights and has barely fought any legit punchers or KO artists his size never mind ones way bigger.

Bud isn't close to the greatest of all time, but he can say it if he wants, don't make it true

If usyk said he was the greatest (he doesn't) he's earned the right. You guys don't realise, thus is not aimed at you in particular. I do NOT have a problem with anyone having usyk as the Goat, as long as they don't bash other great fighters in the process. I of course don't agree he's a goat, similar to not agreeing with bud. But opinions vary

I will probably put bud ahead of usyk if he beats canelo. Usyk gives up Size, but size isn't everything at hw and 5 pounds at that weight isn't the same as someone at 150. There are diminishing returns

I rate canelo way higher than anyone on usyks resume. I know he's been beat before, even outclassed but he has fought way better competition than belly, breidis, Aj, gassiev etc

bud is not the goat and anyone thinking he is close is way off the mark. I have Floyd and manny well ahead and beating canelo will not change that, as his resume isn't great despite his many championships

Most rate usyk higher than bud on here and I doubt that changes anytime soon, so bud can say what he likes. Don't make it true

Just in closing. As usyk who is best boxer in the world he will tell you bud. Bud has been in record returning the compliment

Pity us fans can't be more mature, but where is the fun in that? Lol

IMO, there are a few heavyweights from yesteryear who would beat Usyk.

Mike is not even at the top of the list.

Usyk would do well against any heavyweight in history the combination of skills and size would trouble any heavyweight pre 90s and he's more then shown he can deal with modern SHWs. Really hard not give him at least even odds against anyone he's more then earned it.

I don't think anyone actually believes Usyk is the GOAT

If these other 'great' fighters do all the things or some of the things I mentioned, the things Usyk has not done, they deserve to be criticized for it not given a free pass for doing so and it absolutely needs to be brought up especially in hypothetical match up threads featuring them vs Usyk or in terms of their and his respective ATG rankings and greatness

Like I said, context gets completely ignored by so many of Usyk, Loma etc. detractors and haters which is really unfair. Fighters who turned pro way later than ones who turned pro in their teens and had 20 odd fights compared to 50-70 simply cannot have as much depth to their records

They also turn pro at higher or much higher weights than fighters who turned pro in their teens did so for example, as I have explained many times, when Loma was the same age as Manny was when he turned pro he was campaigning down at Atomweight with same day weigh ins, ie. the lowest weight class in amateur boxing, so if he turned pro then 135 would be like his 8th or 9th weigh class and he weighs about 10-12lbs less than Manny.

If he turned pro at say 19 135 would be at least his 6th weight class with same day weigh ins

You say size isn't everything at HW and there are diminishing returns but tiny blown up126 Loma was routinely giving away 10-15lbs at 135, even often giving up weight or a lot of weight at 126 and 130, and huge amounts of reach, and was giving up 20lbs and almost 6'' in reach to Haney, in his backyard, with a 36 hour weigh in, and with a home ref and three home judges

Whereas, in complete contrast, Crawford, as said, has very often been the much or bigger man, rarely smaller or significantly so, and extremely rarely much smaller

Why dis Loma look so tiny at 135? Why did all those guys look much or way bigger than him? Because they were

Has Crawford ever looked undersized at any weight he's fought at? Why does he look bigger or roughly the same size as almost all his opponents? Because he was/is

But you don't like Loma either

And obviously fighters who have the huge luxury of coming from the US where their best fighters are not only the least likely to travel but on the rare occasions they do the officials have to be neutral or at least have some fair representation, whereas, conversely, foreigners fight in their country the deck is heavily stacked with a home ref and three home judges and huge parts of their legacies are cruelly stolen from them time and time again in these legacy defining fights but so many fans not only don't care one iota about it they derive pleasure from watching it happen over and over again

I would agree that Clenelo is better in historical sense than any of Usyk's wins but I don't think he's a more dangerous opponent or risky or difficult fight for Crawford than some of Usyk's were for him. For starters, Crawford is the same size as him with a much longer reach, he hasn't stopped anyone in four years despite the fact he's been cherrypicking like crazy, and he cannot deal with a certain style to save his life. The combination of huge/obscene physical advantages that Usyk is routinely having to contend with and overcome, the huge power of his opponents, the skill, athleticism and speed these giants have for their size, and fighting them on a deck stacked in their favour etc. makes them much a more difficult and dangerous proposition for Usyk than anything Crawford has ever had to contend with or ever will.

I think Crawford is a superb fighter and I've had him P4P top 3 for god knows how long and I rate him as one of the top 3-4 most skilfill fighters in the world and have done for a very long time too. I also like him and his style. However, what Usyk and Loma are/were doing is very different, more risky and impressive than what Crawford has done and is doing. Clearly.

I know Usyk and Crawford respect each other a lot but Crawford actually hurled his toys out of the pram about Loma being ranked P4P#1 over him even though Loma clearly had a better resume than him at the time and fully deserved it. You ask Usyk or Loma who is P4P#1 and they're too humble to name themselves

Crawford himself is telling you he deserves to be the GOAT if he beats Clenelo, not his fans and posters on message boards. I completely disagree he does not deserve the right to believe so and it should anger you that he does like it does when others say Usyk is
