RocNation paid 40m for Cotto's contract. Even if they had paid a fraction of that for Ward, they would still need to get Ward into good fights to make the contract profitable. We have to assume RocNation paid Ward a good sum as a less profitable fighter in Rigo got paid 10m. Ward was threatening on ****ing the contract away on fat Paul Smith type fighters so obviously RocNation stepped in to change something.
