Over the years, has Judah been overrated as a fighter?

I don't think his potential was overrated. If he had become more of a risk taker, he could have won some of the big fights he was involved with and he was always interestiing to watch. His opportunity to become a truly elite fighter has passed now.

 

I agree he was elite and the best in the division at junior welter. I think he unified
the titles at 20? Yes super speed and great power. I don't think he was overrated.
he was the goods and always had a shot. Not many give floyd problems like Zab did.
I think a prime Judah would stop khan too. Anyway the common argument is that

It has nothing to do with being overrated. Zab is one of those athletes with such raw talent that you can't stop watching him, but he's missing some of the intangibles to make it to the top and stay. Everybody knows what he is, loads of natural skill and not so much nurtured skill, so he is exactly appropriately rated by most.

 

I'm guilty of overrating him. I knew he never fought a world beater but I felt like it didn't matter, and I figured he would conquer the game. When ZOO beat him, I called it a fluke. Still I figure he was the best.

I followed him closely, and watched him beat C+/B- fighters until he lost to the next world beater. Still I figured he was just off that night.........

When it came for Khan, I wanted Khan to win, but figured Judah had it in him to finally shock the world.

I admit it..... I was a Judah nuthugger.:-(

well..Joan Guzman was pretty good at 122..

 

He's the nearly guy, he always seemed to have potential but whenever he was supposed to step up to the plate, for one reason or another, he didn't. There was a point where he was supposed to be the next big thing.

 

He's one of those guys that looks good against mediocre challengers and low level beltholders, but can't compete with the real top.
