I know how it works in Boxing. I was reffering to the Tony Thompson fight when I said he "should be steam rolling these C level fighters". Thompson is C level at best, but Wladimir still didn't open up and go for the knockout even when it was apparent early on that Thompson's heart wasn't in it. In my opinion, Tony's heart wasn't in it from the middle rounds on. He was just waiting to be knocked out, but because Wladimir wouldn't let his hands go, he had to do the work himself and take a dive. As far as the Ibragimov fight goes, credit to Wladimir for winning in one of the worst fights in the history of Boxing. The issue here is whether or not Wladimir Klitschko is an exciting fighter and his last two outtings would suggest he isn't.
Ibragimov is not a C level fighter. Period. Repetition will not make it true. The Thompson fight was not bad either. A solid chinned volume punching southpaw who smuthered, clinched and held the whole fight. Hmm, when Hopkins does it it's called Skill and Craftyness, but apprently when Thompson did it it's called C-level. I'll remember that for the next time Hopkins fights. And for all the complaints Wlad threw more Rights in that fight then he has in his previous three combined.
oops, that was innapropriate. Haye's already said he'll retire...and I hope he sticks to it with all the trash he's been talking.
Bernard Hopkins went for the knockout against Kelly Pavlik so of course he gets credit. I criticised Hopkins for his tactics in his previous fights with Winky and Calzaghe though, just as I criticise Wladimir. Difference is, Hopkins clinches and smuthers against top notch fights; Winky, Taylor, and Calzaghe. That's bad enough but when you're in there against Tony Thompson and you're still doing it, and you're the champion of the world, it makes me feel sick. I can't be a fan of Wlad. My life isn't that empty.
If Haye loses to Monte, then the heavyweight division becomes even worse and more of a joke than it already is. Because one of the very few stars in the division becomes irrelevant.
exactly. and it all stems for childish klitscho hatred. he is the most disrespected champion today hands down. as for haye if he loses...i will be disappointed. the hw division is lacking matchups mainly cause the russians are afraid to fight the klitschkos (i.e. valuev, povetkin) haye brings enormous hype behind him and a fight between him and either klit will be built up. i don't think much of a haye as a hw but i hope he wins a couple of fights to get to the klits. i hope haye fights valuev and wins cause that's the only way we can unify the wba belt cause it's pretty clear where valuev's intentions lie. at least haye says he will fight wlad or vitali. im starting to respect him for that. but he better deliver or he be the biggest hw flop in history
well u can't blame the klits. they are very good boxers but when guys like valuev and povetkin wont fight them for whatever reason it creates this sense of disappointment. Valuev, chagaev, and maskaev all had offers on the table to unify with wlad at some pt... i dont FANCY haye's chances to beat either klit but i hope he makes it to a fight against either cause it will bring some excitement to the division cause of the insane hype machine haye brings to the table
Wlad knocked Barrett out 8 years ago. I do not even know why Haye handpicked Barrett it is a pointless fight. Even someone like Maskaev would have been better.
Well, he could go back to cruiserweight i guess. But i doubt he´ll do it because he doesn´t want to lose this "undisputed" cruiserweight king title...I see a lot of fighters that can beat him at cruiser. And how somenone can consider Wlad as boring is beyond me.You must have a short memory because all you can refer to are the Ibragimov fight and in parts the Thompson fight. Two southpaws, the kind of fighters noone likes to fight because they don´t make for a great fight and are dangerous.Yet Wlad took em, dominated them and knocked one out. Anyway hope you guys find it more exciting when Wlad knocks Hayes head off...
Yes true, i think Barret was 23- Wins 1- Lose 14- KO's, personaly i think Haye will be Prescoted aka Amir Khan Link - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ymOzDPHsFNg
I actually believe that Monte is going to win. Not b/c I think Monte is so great but b/c I'm not sold on Haye at HW just yet. He "LOOKS" like a legit HW with his physique but the verdict is still out on how he can handle a true HW's punch....And Haye does get hit often which means we'll soon find out if he is a legit HW or if he needs to get back down to his pervious division that he ruled for a short pd of time.
Stupid assumption considering he's been knocked out at cruiserweight. Really, I'm amazed that you can even say this.
