Overall, who got the better of the stand-up portions of the Silva vs Sonnen fight?

that is like saying..who face was beat up more...dosn't matter....Sonnen lost....end of story... Your great hero.

 

Just compare their faces at the end of the fight to see the results.

 

Not a fair assessment. Anderson has a head of leather. You could hit him with brass knuckles and he'd hardly mark up. Chael's quite the opposite

 

Silva was clearly affected by the rib injury. Seemed far more stiff than usual and less willing to trust his reflexes and counterpunch. Instead he was coming forward and getting caught with the occasional big punch from Sonnen.

But in the end it doesn't matter. Its not a boxing match and its not a wrestling match - its a MMA bout. And Silva won. Brilliantly so in fact.

 

Silva's best work was off his back, not when the two were standing.
