OVERALL: Who's a better boxer, Dmitry Bivol or Vasily Lomachenko?

Bivol is like technically perfect and Lomachenko is much more fluid and dynamic. Both highly effective at what they do.

 

Right now Bivol. In his prime Loma was better than Bivol will ever be.

 

Lomachenko is better. He's fighting way out of his weight class. Bivol is a small LHW but not dwarfed by everyone.

 

This. I respect Loma for trying to achieve greatness but he's not getting credit for fighting giants. He should have stuck to his weightclass.

 

Resume wise its closer than people think and Bivol will eventually surpass Loma pfp once he beats Beterbiev

In what context? Which weight division regarding Lomachenko? He beat some world class fighters quite handily at super featherweight but struggled when he put on 7 pounds and fought the best at lightweight. He was also a highly decorated amateur.

Bivol has never lost and has fought at the same weight since debuting.

It's like comparing mandarins and oranges.

Bivol has superior intangibles. The things that you cannot measure. Bivol comes out on top in this comparison.

 

In terms of pure boxing skills, I'd say Loma.

If the question is who's the better *fighter*, it's Bivol because he has been remarkably consistent whereas Loma has had issues.

 

Imagine Lomachenko had a massive natural size advantage over the fighters he's been facing like Bivol had over Canelo.

Think Bivol needs a win over Beterbiev before anyone starts ranking him over Loma.

 

Nah. Flashier, yes. Better, no. Loma is overrated.

 

Canelo is a better win than any of Loma's wins, even at 175, and Bivol doesn't have a Salido or Lopez type performance.

If you cannot measure them then how do you know Bivol has superior intangibles?
