Bivol by far Tank needs to fight better opposition

Actually IMO they are both ranked pretty fairly. A lot of people see Tank as very beatable and most see Bivol as an excellent fighter and not exactly a second coming....

    Sure, he's got skills.

But can he use them against a high ring IQ fighter with high skill levels?
(Eg. Fury is clearly skilled, but looked much less so against Usyk).

Yes he's quick, yes he has power... But... What use is that if he's not willing to test his ability to use them against the best?

Plenty of fighters get painted as boogeymen because they look skilled against okay rather than great opponents... Sometimes they step up and lose and the hype bubble bursts - sometimes they get beat and/or never fight the best (thinking Luis Ortiz here, for example, who refused to fight Joshua who was the best at the time... And lost to Wilder who clearly wasn't... But looked skilled against mediocre opponents).

Yes Tank has positive attributes - I don't disagree at all... I just refuse to rate just how good those are without sufficient context to put them in perspective - and his resume being mediocre denies me that context, in the absence of it he's not P4P at all (and the fact so many put him P4P top ten makes him probably the most overrated fighter in the sport).

Bivol. If he beats Beterbiev he's a lock for top 5 p4p when he has been dated nowhere near that

Wahid finds himself inexplicably on the odd p4p list already despite his alarmingly thin resume

Entirely depends on who you’re asking.

Hardcore boxing fans (i.e. forums like this one) underrate Davis more.

    Casuals underrate Bivol more.

I agree with this and I've been telling everyone for years his resume is very PBC/Showtime smoke & mirrors heavy and proven it with in depth breakdowns

He's kind of crept into the bottom end of people's P4P top 10 but I still don't think it's really warranted yet

His talent eclipses his accomplishments and resume but he certainly doesn't belong up there with the likes of Usyk, Crawford, Inoue, Loma, Clenelo and a few others. He's an excellent fighter though

Ratings are subjective but I think it’s when you consider someone being underrated it has to be in comparison to others in their weight class.
I don’t think they are underrated as fighters but some of their qualities sometimes aren’t as appreciated.
For example I think bivol is one of the best fighters at maintaining range with his jab, it is as good as any jab out there and his footwork and ability to close the ring off are at the very highest level.
Tank has a similar ability to shut the ring off too and his lateral movement is top level, but he is almost a victim of his own power.
He can become lax defensively at points because he knows he’s eventually going to land the power shot, his accuracy is top and he is patient, he is not underrated or overrated but his movement and boxing are sometimes not appreciated as his power is next level for his weight.
I’m not sure about underrated but I think they could both be described as misunderstood.
The thing that I see in both of them that elite fighters all have is that composure in the ring.

Tough question to answer because there are plenty of people that think either guy is the best thing since Our Lord and Saviour cameth to sliceth the bread in the year 1928AD amen, and plenty that say either guy is massively overrated. I think Tank is more overrated, but that doesn't necessarily mean I think Bivol is more underrated.

I think the general opinion around Bivol is a little more balanced, so I'd also have to say that Tank is more underrated.

Who do I think is better? Bivol. But am I now underrating Tank? Will that lead me to overrate him in the future? This is a tough sport to be a fan of, maybe I'll stick to darts. Is Phil "The Power" Taylor still around?

In this forum yes, but boxing fans as a whole rate Bivol fairly and overrate Tank. People on here aren’t wrong to underrate Tank though, the least the guy could do is fight Shakur.

Bivol is more underrated in general. Tank gets all the attention and credit he rightfully deserves to be fair.
