what is wrong with people who try to discredit Overeem? Are people saying that Alistair is the best heavy in the world? no. But you cant deny that he has looked stellar in his last fights! Didnt he just win the K-1 gp? He is now the most proven striker in all MMA! Is that not an accomplishment? It is not like Overeem is a striker coming into mma with no experience, he has 10 years experience and has never looked better! why are so many quick to dismiss overeem? as you all know soon their will be a tournament to prove who the best heavyweight in the world and overeems next fight is against the #1 heavyweight in the world! After that (if he wins, which is not is not even remotely certain) he will most likely face the greatest heavyweight to ever live, so why are people complaining about his competition? he is not running from good fights he has faced them and will face the best comp of his career this very year! you want him to face better comp. you got it! so stop your whining!
Reality? Look im not interested in pontificating the merits of wether you think Rogers should or should not have been ranked in the top 10. Facts are he was. Even if he was outside of it he was still a top ranked opponent. As for Lesnar yes he was not number 1. The UFC on the other hand said he was an organisations like Sherdog followed suit as did many independent rankings thanks to the pressure the UFC affords those that do not comply with their Borg mentality. Either way Brock was a top 10 opponent. Where he fits in frankly i dont care. The UFC is the one that gave him the "push" and put the hype machine firmly into override. Looks like you bought the hype. As you were arguing earlier Brock's fabled take down credentials vs Overeem...
Yes. And i stand FIRMLY by my convictions. 3 years ago i said Overeem would be a serious threat at heavy. I have been vindicated thus far. I also believe he has the talent to destroy Cain and JDS the only heavys that matter in the UFC. I mean imagine a 40 fight plus heavy vs two fighters who have less than half as many fights combined. Perish the thought.... I fail to see whats laughable about that when Overeem has since won the SF DREAM and K-1 title. Hardly insignificant achievements are they.. Then again if it was a UFC heavy who had done that you'd be swinging from his nut sack the same way you used to swing from Coleman jock back in the day.
Apparently not. Widdows reading comprehension is only surpassed by his lust for Mark Coleman's spit bucket.
Funny how on one hand you back the rankings...on the other you blast them. Whatever supports your cause I guess. I didn't have to buy into any hype. I never said that Lesnar was the best. He is CLEARLY better than Rodgers. Lesnar was easily a top 10 heavyweight and he earned it with wins over Heath Herring, Frank Mir, Randy Couture, and Shane Carwin. Which is much more than Brett Rodgers has done at heavyweight. To be honest... those are better wins than Overeem has as well... and you know it.:yep Let alone the fact that this guy only had 6 MMA fights going into his fight with Cain. I would say that is pretty damn impressive. Hell, you were just going on about Overeem's achievments in the Heavyweight division being unparalleled today, with the exception of Fedor. Come the **** on man... this was directly after you admited his best wins were against Hunt, Kharintonov and Rodgers.
Get over yourself. Explain to me how I have ever acted like Coleman was anything more than he obviously was? You live in a fantasy world. You resort to nonsense like this because you can't debate for ****.
I'm sorry... he just thinks that he is the greatest heavyweight in the world other than Fedor. My bad. Also, are you trying to say that nobody has been on here saying that Overeem was the #1 heavyweight in the world?
The K-1 belt is significant. The other 2 are joke titles. Let's call them by their accurate names: The Man that Beat Paul Buentello Championship Belt and The Man that Submitted a Post Kimbo Thompson Championship. I'm going to go ahead and bestow with The 2nd Guy to Defeat Todd Duffee World Title.
You dont even know the difference between opinion and fact. How many times must we do this? You're actually on a roll here with your stupidity. Again your reading comprehension leaves alot to be desired. Yes i said Overeems accomplishments at heavy for a former light heavy are unparalleled. That is positvely the case as there is NO FORMER LIGHT HEAVY who has had as much success at a top level in the K-1 and different MMA organisations as Overeem. You will notice from my previous post i was comparing the titles Overeem won at heavy with Fedor's. We can conclude this because i mentioned them. ( if you want i can include the text from my previous post in bold and font size 72 if that helps. Just let me know...) Hence the reason for the parallel. **** me this is hard work. atsch
O really? Widdow me and you have been at it for many years on these boards. Your man love for Coleman is well known as you repeatedly used to tell everyone how you trained with him. Carried he's spit bucket. Cosy'ed up with him in his jock bla bla. I can call you out because iv seen you write encyclopaedia's worth of **** on these boards. Dont act for a minute like your a model of objectivity when you have always been a Mark Coleman and UFC schill the entire time you have been here.
I agree that the strikeforce title doesnt mean that much to win because of who he beat to get it. same as the dream title, but as you know overeem has been devoting his time to K-1, but now he has a chance to devote himself to a major MMA heavyweight tournament so we can see how he swims in the deepest of waters. I too would pick overeem to beat velasquez, Jds, and Lesnar and they are the best the ufc has to offer in the heavyweight division. call me crazy but I think he matches up pretty well with lesnar and jds. I think cain would be more difficult to deal with but Overeem would probably batter him with knees and wear him down then take velasquez out with some heavy punches. Cain certanly would not want to get in a firefight with Overeem.
The fact that you feel the need to overexaggerate claims on my part, and add in bull**** that I never said... just goes to show that you are on the losing side of the argument.:good It's not my fault that you don't know anybody that you talk about every day. Don't be jealous.
