I genuinely think all Werdums big fights should be boycotted now that was plain disgraceful and like someone else said the novelty wore off in the 1st round. I cant see how anyone could give that fight to Werdum, people here always talk about how little stuffing takedowns gets little recognition from judges. That said Overeem failed to make the big statement he needed to last night but Silva is definitely a better stylistic match up for him so ill wait till then to pass judgement

The guys who think this wasn't a robbery, what did Overeem do exactly to win the fight? He was just backing away and getting ready to counter. For all the **** Werdum pulled in this fight, it was he that was pressing the action, and I dont believe he really got outstruc either
I think Werdum was marginally outstriking Overeem in that he was landing more but i think Reem landed more telling strikes. PLus whenever he landed against Werdum he fell over (i dont think he was hurt) which doesnt look good to judges. But that marginal advantage in the striking was lost when he kept getting his takedowns stuffed. I gave reem rounds 1 and 2 (close but clear) and Werdum the 3rd.
To me, it's hard to give points for stuffing takedown when you take no advantage after you stuffed it. However, I can see how Werdum's antics could have swayed the judges away from giving him points that Overeem did not deserve
I see your point im surprised he didnt kick the legs of werdum when he was on the ground he was getting nothing on the feet and if hed slowed him down with leg kicks he couldve done better in the striking.
Werdums biggest problem was when Overeem stuffed those takedowns, not only did he stop the takedown he turned them into his own takedowns but slamming and tripping and throwing Werdum to the ground. In the judges eyes all those takedowns where awarded to Overeem instead of Werdum. Werdum had a terrible gameplan and looked like a scared fighters laying on his back the whole fight. The judges do NOT see that as "pressing the action". Overeem as the TS suggested seemed to be over trained to me too. Luckily this is a Grand Prix and in the end the best fighter will prevail. I honestly can see either 1 of these 4 fighters winning it. I'm happy with the tourny so far. I just wish it wasn't dragging on so long. Most of you people just cry about **** because you're bitches.

I don't really give a **** about take downs, unless a fighter does something with them. When a fighter takes another down, and the person taken down gets right back up; it looks like wasted energy to me. I thought Werdum landed the better shots striking, and had Overeem on the defensive for a lot of the stand-up. Well, "a lot" is a stretch if we're talking action. I should say for what little stand-up action we had. Werdum was trying desperately to take the fight to the ground, to the point I thought he was winded just from standing up over and over. Werdum could have won those rounds clearly had he not flopped on his back repeatedly. Werdum deserves some flack about making that fight dull, but that doesn't change the fact that he out struck the K1 champion on his feet.
