Journalist: Mirko lost to JDS in the meantime. Have you watched the fight?

Alistair: I think that Mirko doesn't train properly for some time already. He made some mistakes in training, maybe he has bad sparring partners. Maybe he should train with us (GGT). We work hard, I would be very glad if he would come to our team and train with us.

Journalist:Crocop claims that training with Hippolyte turned things around for him. What's your opinion?

Alistair: I know Ivan Hippolyte, he Bonjaski's coach. I think it's a wrong decision for Mirko. Why? Hippolyte was a middleweight kickboxing champion, that's totally different from mma and fighting against world's top heavyweights. I believe that he's wrong choice for Crocop and wrong method of training, this won't do any good for him. Mirko should start thinking what's best for him, what he really needs to do.

Journalist: Well, what should he do?

Alistair: I train in Netherlands, I train kick boxing for 15 years already, that's why I can compete in K-1 at the top level. But I also know what I need besides kickboxing to be successful in mma. Mirko needs trainings in strenght and conditioning, he needs to work on his ground game and improve his ground'n'pound. I do understand what is he trying, but that's wrong. By focusing on standup, he neglected all other aspects of this sport

Good idea if you ask me. Although I have a feeling it's too little to late now.

yeah i agree -it was a little depressing seeing him fight at UFC 110 - he is one of my favourite fighters - just looks old, little out of shape, no drive, not as sharp, seems to have lost the will - i hope he stops soon if he keeps up like this sad sight to see.

the fight last night only proved one thing: that mirko can win against a bum.

and back to the topic, mirko is done. he'll probably retire next year (if we're lucky). the change of training camp is too late.

He carried the guy. The guy had been helping him train for the fight and jumped in at the last minute!

I think it is a sly ploy to finish off Mirko's testicles.
