And elite. Off the top of my head: AJ Wilder Fury Usyk Bivol Gvozdyk Canelo Jacobs Hurd Lara Spence Crawford Mikey Garcia Lomachenko Tank Davis Inouye(sp?)
Regardless of hype they have earned their stripes imo and hype or lack of shouldnt impact how they are viewed and rates by real boxing fans.
Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, and Teofimo Lopez should all be on the list soon too, and also yeleyuessenov or howevee you spell it. Oh, and Josh Taylor too, 100% legit elite
not that many of them. Fury for one victory of a 37 year old? Is leon spinks elite too? His draw with Wilder brings him a bit closer closer though., he still needs real wins over prime tops to make that claim. Jacobs? for winning a vacant titrle, at his third title shot? dont make me laugh. Spence? not really done anything eliteworthy yet.
They are just prospects. How do you not know they aren't just gonna be hypejobs like Jeff Lacy, Adrien Broner, Victor Ortiz, Amir Imam, Jose Benavidez, Frankie Gomez, Felix Verdejo, Erickson Lubin, The Peterson brothers, who were all tipped to be elite but they were all frauds.
Neither Fury nor Hurd belong there. They are bigger than their opponents and that is the extent of their talent.
me personally, out of that list, i only see canelo, spence, crawford, garcia, loma, and inoue as elites. usyk is getting overated, but im not surprised, and i find defending that stance a bit tiring against his legion, so i rarely go into what i see. but i havent completely discounted him from possible elite level, i just need to see more. the rest, aside from the prospects, will never be elite, imo.
