Overhyped/overrated or whatever: I'm gaining more and more respect for Manfredo.

Too true. Too many guys who call themselves REAL FANS only seem to love World Champs or undefeated fighters and call the rest bums. Manfredo seems like a generally nice guy and works his butt off. Gotta respect that.

 

I've been very unimpressed by him.

I like his quote from the Calzaghe fight, though: "I was just waiting for him to stop punching, but he never did.."

 

Manfredo is no world class fighter, but I have to have an immense amount of respect for him. He's a real fighter. Doesn't care about the opponent, money, location, date, ring size, glove size, etc.

He's has an old school mentality in the sense that he will fight often and anybody. I would have liked to see him pull off a win against Lacy, but he fought the wrong fight and was too tentative in the middle rounds. Ashame he was robbed against Mora in the second fight.

Manfredo has decent skills and could have won against Lacy. His effort in that fight makes it hard for me to respect him though.

well.
he was unbeaten coming into the contender.

now the chances of winning the contender is low only 1 person can be unbeaten at the end. which was mora in 2 very dubious decisions.

now he comes out of it starts fighting at a good wieght at light middlewieght...then for absolutly no reaosn goes to super-middlewieght.

you can tell he aint a super middlewieght when you have spots of a 15 year old when your a boxer who has to train eat healthy and be in shape..while drinking tons of water it's almost impossible to get spots for a 26 year old.

anyways good boxer puncher not world class but he can mix with them.

 

Manfredo is a very tough *******.. He has become a solid measure for top fighters to try to look great against.. He gave Lacy real trouble when Jeff got tired.. He could really be something if he continues down his current route.
