Still a decent win. Ortiz was done but was never a man to retire during a fight.

As it stands, Buchanan has the style to give Ortiz, one of the best all-rounders I have ever seen, hassle prime for prime IMO.

Joseph Agbeko-footwork.

Watch Agbeko's feet over the course of most of his fights, near flawless the way he positions them. When he's circling, he does the correct thing and inverts the lead foot, which enables him to manuver with greater fluidity and allows him to switch direction and stance a little bit more sly. When it isn't like that, and the foot is straightened, you shuffle more than move, it makes it that little more difficult, forces you to put greater emphasis on it and wears you down a little bit more.

But when he's going on the offensive, leading with his right hand? The foot points straighter, not squaring up, but pointing your lead foot towards the opponent, as it allows him greater leverage when he's lunging in with it. People look at a somewhat awkward fighter and think that that's why they've had success, but to pull it off you've got to have some substance to go with it, some ring smarts to go with the awkwardness to make a greater formula.

Yeah, fair points. I think he had to be dirty against DeJesus in a way so as to impose his size fully and stop DeJesus working his way forward with the left hook and getting his own offence going. Reminds me of Saddler a little bit in that fight actually. Speaking of Saddler, someone mentioned Elorde on this thread I think and I might weigh in with something on that fight later on. Elorde's overall skillset doesn't get much of a mention anywhere tbh; he was outboxing Saddler pretty clearly for my money in that fight. Superb ring general.

I've not heard anything about any film of the Furuyama fight tbh, I'm not sure how many of Cervantes' defences were filmed. RagingBULL or GreatA might be the ones to talk to (as you probably know ).

Unfortunately people don't realise that great defensive fighters are also great attacking fighters as well such as Pernell Whittaker, Floyd Mayweather, Magic Man Marlon Starling etc.
