Inoue has regularly faced the top 5 opponents at every weight he's fought at. Roy didn't. Eric Lucas, Bryant Bannon, and Tony Thornton were not as good as guys like Eubank, Benn, Collins, Liles, McClellan, Dariusz, or any decent HW. Roy's opposition was carefully picked, he ducked the best opposition for most of his career, his level of ability is vastly blown out of proportion to the point where some people are deluded enough to genuinely believe he was impossible to beat because he was fast, and had the HBO hype machine behind him. He was only lineal champ in 1 division and it was the division where he refused to face the real lineal champion there for years on end. His top 5 wins are a drained Toney, an inexperienced B-Hop who was only a fringe-contender at the time, paper champ John Ruiz, Montell, and Gonzalez. Not very inspiring considering how highly he's touted. He ducked his fellow champions, never faced the best opposition available, fought at home his whole career, and is vastly overrated respective to what he actually accomplished. You can type as much as you want to try tell me that a bunch of barely ranked randos were as good as Benn and co. somehow but I will die on this hill and no amount of evidence or reason will dissuade me.
Most underrated ATG in my book is Bernard Hopkins. His longevity is something that we will never see again in boxing / any combat sport. I can't imagine there will ever be another 49 years old world champion, let alone unified world champion. He was widely defeated for the first time 2 months shy of 50 years old by a prime monster
This is absolute nonsense my good man. First of all, you rank a fighter on what he actually did. Who he beat and when. You look at the manner of victory etc. Once again, what Inoue has done over the past few years, Roy did exactly the same, but for TEN years. Therefore, you cannot be impressed by one guy, but not the other. Now Inoue hasn’t got a Toney or Hopkins on his resume, or the names of the guys who you claim that Roy ducked. Yes, of course guys like Thornton etc, weren’t as good as guys like Benn etc. However, there’s 2 things to consider: 1. There’s valid reasons why those fights that you mentioned weren’t made. 2. Even though Inoue has regularly fought the top 5 guys in each division, they obviously weren’t on the level of Benn, Liles, Gerald and Dariusz etc either. No, Roy didn’t carefully pick his opposition or duck the best. Now if you can prove me wrong, then please go ahead. No, he didn’t refuse to face Dariusz M at all. On numerous occasions, his advisors, along with HBO, reached out to Universum in order to try and meet. But Universum would never meet with them to have face to face discussions. Not a single meeting ever took place. And that’s a fact. No, those guys aren’t his top 5 wins at all. And if you believe that, then that really exposes your knowledge of his career. Regarding Hopkins, just because he wasn’t highly ranked at the time, that has nothing to do with his ability. Both guys were seen as prospects then. However, you can simply watch their 1993 fight, as well as Hopkins’ subsequent fights in order to see how good he was. You don’t just rate guys on where they were ranked. You look at their ability. You look at what they went onto do. You don’t rate just on statistics. That 1993 version of Hopkins was world class. And probably as good as anyone that Inoue has beaten to date. Regarding Ruiz, let’s see Inoue make the equivalent jump, and fight anybody by being outweighed as much as what Roy was outweighed by. The fact that you’ve actually said that even evidence won’t dissuade you, tells us that you’re not interested in an objective debate. Now as great as he is, to date, Inoue hasn’t done anything greater than what Roy did.
Walker Smith Jr. Roberto Duran. One of my Personal favorites is Thomas Hearns. I think he was so damn close being the greatest fighter ever. I'm not sure he makes to 10 all time, but I LOVE Hearns. I think Loma had the potential to hit all time top 5, if he ever beat Teo in the rematch, then the third time, and then had a couple more accomplishments. But I don't really have a Full list or anything. Mike Tyson lb for lb and age, if you froze him in time when he became champ, and every other fighter in history had to be as good as Tyson was at that age or bust, no one would ever be better. I think there was a point in Mike Tysons career where if you measure him against every other fighter ever at the same age, he is bar none the best.
Calcium & sulphur are indeed two of the ingredients found in Plaster of Paris in MUCH LARGER QUANTITIES What was found,& they had to use microscopic analysis to find the trace elements found which were CONSISTANT with Human Sweat & NOT plaster at all. The CSAC failed to mention that detail when they gave out their report. I tried to ask several members of the CSAC Plus Naz Richardson. Whos lie about seeing Plaster blocks started the whole witch hunt No one would offer any explanation I wonder Why ??????????????????. So the CSAC took away Antonio's license because they SUSPECTED he MAY have tried to cheat but had no proof he had done anything wrong He was unable to earn a lining for almost 3 years based on a blatant lie. You try & ask the CSAC why they ruined an innocent mans career & tarnished his good name based on a lie I have a good idea why, look who else Richardson trained???????
George Foreman--His wins over Frazier were because of a size advantage. Norton was chinless and would've faced the same fate against Bakole or prime Joe Joyce, maybe even Sam Peter. There's not much outside of that. He never proved he was consistent enough to actually put together a reign. His people knew he couldn't do a championship length fight and kept him mostly in ten rounders after Ali. When he finished 12 for the first time against Young, he took an L and almost died in the showers. Then people get misty eyed about how he regained the title while totally skipping over the fact that it was against Michael Moorer and he was losing. They then whine to this day about the Briggs fight when it was just an ordinary close fight. Briggs outlanded Foreman by 30 or 40 power punches and never got dropped. Go find a robbery that looks like that or, better yet, whine about Schultz or Stewart. Vitali came back while old and off a layoff and went straight to a title and long, dominant reign, but you'll never here anyone say it was better than Foreman's comeback. Go put together a heavyweight top ten, count out their records in title fights, and then do it for George. And P.S. the sexual allegations against him rival those that Ike Ibeabuchi got put away for,
Mickey Walker and Manny Pacquiao, for similar reasons. The weight climbs are impressive and both are obviously great. I just don't think either is a lock for Top 15 or even Top 20 and I realize that places me in the minority on sites like these.
True.Nonoya hasn’t fought any fellow atg’s.Top 5 good enough to the kid, i guess. But its not nooya fault not many greats in the lower weights as its experiencing a weak division era.I don’t think he is overrated he passes the eye test but his resume is lacking.
