If Lomachenko is so small and a featherweight than why didn't he fight Rigondeaux @ 126 or even 124? Just like if GGG is so small why didn't he fight Canelo @ 155? The reason isn't belts and never was!!!!
Well, at 138 he could make 126. Thats just 12 pounds. But its a lot easier not to do so. Just focus on training and not the weight. Its the same reason Rigondeaux stayed at 122 for so long. And why he refused the WBSS at 118. (Rigondeaux usually weighed in at 128)
I dont agree. Spinks was quite tall and Duran had the body build to move up in weight. Duran looked like he belonged at WW and even at MW.
Ron Lyle Haye Joshua McClellan Marciano Oscar de la Hoya All overated, not always their fault that they are overated for instance Marciano best wins were over old men or light heavy-weights. but he could only beat what is there and put in front of him.
So a man who fought and beat every conceivable contender from 1962 until 1980 and ducked no one some twice is overrated? If people don't believe he's the greatest heavyweight ever that's fine, but overrated? Get out of here.
None of the fighters listed were overrated. Ingemar Johansson Ingemar was a murderous puncher. He destroyed Floyd Patterson and Hein Ten Hoff, who were both excellent punchers themselves. He'd easily be a top 5 heavyweight today. This content is protected This content is protected Tyson (media glorifies him too much) Accomplished more in three years than most fighters will accomplish in 20 years. The only former heavyweight champions that accomplished more than him are Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, and Jack Johnson. Ali (same with Tyson) A great fighting champion that ducked nobody. Besides Jack Johnson and Joe Louis no other Heavyweight champion comes close to accomplishing what he did in his career. James Braddock A longtime light heavyweight that fell short of winning the title, but managed to move up and claim the heavyweight title. He didn't defend his title for two years, which is a black mark on his career, but to his credit he climbed in the ring and gave Louis a tough fight before being stopped. Felix Trinidad A world champion at three weight classes from 147, 154, to 160. Only ever lost to Hopkins and Winky Wright when he was active and Roy Jones after coming off a three year layoff. Ray Leonard Beat Hagler, Hearns, and Duran, which easily put his resume light years beyond most past and present champs between 147-160.
Almost anyone HBO tries to push these days. Jacobs just had a competitive fight and I slightly resented him during and after it specifically because of the commentary. Same stuff w GGG and Roman Gonzales (until Sor laid him out).
Deontay Wilder. Muhammad Ali. Evander Holyfield. George Foreman. Larry Holmes. Ken Norton. Joe Frazier. Sonny Liston. And I do not even bother going further back than that...
Without doubt the most overated boxer EVER was Floyd Mayweather jr To call him TBE is preposterous. BUT The sad part is Floyd really could have been one of TBE & ranked alongside Ali Robinson etc He certainly had the incredible God Given boxing skills. But his trouble started when The NSAC & Vegas boxing got into his head & lauded him as The Cash Cow.. From then on his career was protected by every means possible/ Both legal & illegal. He ducked the dangerous challengers like Margarito, Williams & Pacquaio. They say Floyd beat Pac BUT it was an injured sabotaged Pac while Floyd was almost certainly juiced to the gills. Even then he BARELY beat him With all this plus the black clouds of suspicion of PED's abuse hanging over his headhe will never be regarded as one of the greats In my honest humble opinion Floyd had the skills to be great but lacked the other necessity THE COJONES!!!! I know I;ll be labelled a hater over this but I do not hate Floyd I just find it very hard to respect him
