I think some people really overrate Battling Nelson. I don't rate Jack McAuliffe that high either. I think Kid Lavigne was better than the two of them, but gets a bit overlooked
Carlos Zarate. Never understood the people who rank him around the top of Bantam. Still a great fighter though. IMO, Jim Jefferies and Jim Corbett definitely fit this criteria, Corbett both H2H and legacy wise, whilst I think John L Sullivan is the opposite, and very underrated in regards to his greatness.
Yes. He's almost unbeatable at lightweight. I always thought Ike could take a win from him. Same with Benny, and Gans depends on the rule-set.
I think some people really overrate Old Chocolate George Godfrey. I think he was just another fighter in a pretty weak pool of contenders, but he gets an almost mythical status by some because of association with Peter Jackson.
No waaay ,Lewis is an ATG ,in fact in some way s he's underrated .Yep he was kod by inferior guys and he could be wobbled , but when he had his mind on the job he'd be capable of Beating any heavyweight ,I'm 100 penct confident on that .
I like Zarate a lot but I have to agree there. I rank him higher head to head than I do based on body of work.
This. I've heard people call him the GOAT seriously. Phenomenal fighter, I rank him 13th pound-for-pound, but a lot of people overrate him vastly
