    Douglas-Tyson and Morales-Pacquiao were both amazing wins, I don't think either is under- or over-rated.

    Yet again, it's obvious you haven't seen the fight you are commenting on. This is a recurring theme with you, mentioning fights you've never seen. Unfortunately for you, it's plain as day to those of us who have seen the fights that you don't have a clue what you're talking about and are without doubt the ultimate...

    Anyway, I stand by every word of this post:

    A win achieved under these circumstances is not a great win, nor even a particularly good one. It was a cherrypicked fight over a past-it name for name-recognition purposes among casual fans like yourself. And it worked! But some of us (who watch fights) know better.

    Ali did outfight him, he outsmarted him, and he knocked him out. You say all he did was lay on the ropes, the ropes were the most dangerous place a fighter could be against Foreman, and Ali used it against him, made him miss his big shots, peppered him back, and eventually scored the knock down

    It was a brilliant tactic and superbly executed, not overrated at all imo. You make it sound too simple, 'he just laid on the ropes', if that were all he did, Foreman would have been able to come up with something to counter it, but he wasn't.

    Underrated win: Raheem - Morales,Complete and utter Style **** for Morales coming off a big win over Manny. Obviously Morales was on the decline but this is a classic case of pure boxer Completely outclassing a limited brawler.

    Overrated- Mayweather vs Gatti. Gatti was made to order for Floyd to go grab a belt. Floyd looked great, but Gatti showed no real defense. I still maintain Gatti was a B- level fighter.


    Underrated Mayweather vs Castillo 1. I thought Floyd's jab and quickness controlled the fight, but it really showed a weakness in Floyd's game. If you just throw a lot of punches, as ineffective as they are with Floyd slipping and blocking, it can fool a lot of people into thinking you are being hit.

    If anything Calzaghe v Lacy is underated. Nobody rates that fight because of Lacys career afterwards. He was still an undefeated favoirite going into the fight.

    Nikolay Valuev was 46-0 before he lost to Chagaev. Merely being undefeated means nothing. Lacy had already shown in the Sheika fight that was overhyped and undertalented.

    The fight doesnt get rated though so how can it be overrated. It couldnt be rated less.

    It gets laughably overrated regularly on this forum. Laughably so. It's one of the most overrated wins of the 2000s. If Pacquiao or Mayweather had a Lacy-calibre fighter on their resumes, no-one would consider it a win of great value. Lacy was not even as good as Zab Judah or Joshua Clottey.

    Awful !:patsch Douglas over Tyson is a HUGE win and every Pac hater recall the first Morales vs Pacquiao fight ! Actually this fight can very well be overrated
