Overrated Wins

Mayweather beating Hatton wasn't a great win in any sense. Hatton lost to Collazo in my opinion, and he was lucky enough to run into a shot Castillo.

 

Hatton/Castillo - Is up there #1 for me

Cotto/Judah - Judah hasnt won a fight in like 2 years when they fought.

Pac/Julio - Pac fans give too much credit for Julio being a world class contender when they fought.

Mijares/Navarro - Navarro is a good fighter but not elite.

Juan Diaz over JulioDiaz & Acelino Freitas - One is way past his former self and the other one wasnt really that good.

Dela Hoya/Mayorga - Come on, who honestly didnt see the outcome happening.

Kessler/Beyer - I admit it I got sucked into this one too, but now realize it was Beyer.

and everyone on Calzaghe's resume except Kessler, all cherry picked, past their primes, not elite, or atleast on the decline.

 

That was Hatton's mistake. He should've refused to go up, he should've realized he wouldn't beat PBF at 147.

 

Nobody overrates half of your list.

Calzaghe v Hopkins and Trinidad v De La Hoya were wins over great fighters, but they were not overrated wins as anyone who saw the fights know that the 'winners' did not perform well at all, were very fortunate to get the decision, and therefore those particular wins have not been highly rated at all by the boxing community, despite the calibre of the opposition.

 

I very rarely hear Cotto's victory over Judah being mentioned as a great win. He was supposed to defeat Judah, and he stopped him, something Floyd failed to do.

 

thats my point, people give too much credit to cotto for knocking out judah when mayweather already beat him beforehand, and before the Mosely fight, Judah on Cotto's resume was apparentely enough to warrant a match between PBF/Cotto.

 

Maywetaher vs Judah for the IBF belt ... Judah shouldnt have that belt at that time.

Apparently Baldomir's win over Judah warranted him a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Floyd was fighting people he shouldn't have been whilst at the same time completely ignoring a fighter like Cotto who was beating better fighters than Gatti and Baldomir.

 

Whilst I agree that the two fights are not highly rated by anyone with a modicum of intelligence, they cannot be compared. De la Hoya was plainly robbed against Trinidad. Calzaghe clearly won the fight, albeit closely. Calzaghe won. Trinidad didn't.

 

it's clear you're a hatton hater and talking complete bollocks. hatton was 4/9 and castillo was 13/8. and i can't remember even the biggest hatton nuthugger over hyping the urango win.

hatton was a clear favourite but NO ONE expected hatton to KO castillo in 4 rounds, considering that castillo had never been down before.
