Try glutamine to help prevent overtraining. If you cant afford it or dont like taking supplements, you can eat cottage cheese which has lots of glutamine in it. I eat mine with peaches or cherry tomatoes. It best eaten a couple hours before training or at bed time.

How many days a week do you train like that? You body needs time to recover, that's when you build muscle and reep the benefits of your workouts.

Overtraining is not all that common and judging from my experience only affects a small percentage of boxers. Most of them are chronic undertrainers!

Ok, put yourself on a schedule and stick to it. Find a way to keep track of your performance, review it monthly and try to improve a little bit for each review. The amount of time you put into training is not necessarily related to the outcome. There is no shortage of boxers who spend 3 or 4 hours daydreaming when they imagine themselves to be training. Few men can do more than 1 to 2 hours of highly concentrated training. Improve your efficiency and overtraining will never be a concern.

L-Glutamine is an amino acid and you can get it at any nutrition store.

I didnt like cottage cheese either until i started eating it with tomatoes and or peaches. Im not really sure what other foods have a high concentration of it, but its not that expensive to buy the supplement.

I used to workout similar to that and id wind up needing 2 weeks off after 6 cause im just burnt out. I suppose thats why real top level fighters train like that then take that time off. Right now im not heading towards a competiton I train 4-5 days a week and run 3-4.

...........Thee are telltale signs of overtraining, if anyone cares to check on themselves once in a while:

Increased heartrate while at rest (you'll need to know your baseline heartrate first, of course).......

    Trouble sleeping

    Irritability

    Lethargy

    and of course, decreased performance.

Exactly. The heart rate is a very good indicator if you're familiar with how your own heart behaves. It can also tell you when you're about to come down with an illness. I used to be a competitive cyclist and I would notice when the heart rate was either higher than normal or responded sluggishly on a training ride. Usually meant I was getting a cold or something like that.
