Im going to be rooting for Barrett. I can't stand out of shape fighters, in this sport you have to be in shape and if you can't do that you deserve to get KTFO because you have no business in a ring.

Gotta give Barrett props, he came into the fight in shape, therefore he's got my support.

I'm still really hoping for him to do a superman faceplant over the top ropes again though...:rofl

Do you guys have Solis' weight right? He does'nt look at all 271lbs as he looks around the same weight as his last fight which was around 262lbs. As bad as it may look to many of you, he will still beat Barrett but I really don't know about him going far though as he seriously needs to weight at least 245lbs tops. But at the same time, he surely does'nt look fatty and wobbly as he looks very solid and carries his weight well. Let's wait until tomorrow night to judge him better, who knows if after all he will impress many with his impressive skills...:good

Once we get past being schoolyard bullies and "picking on the fatty" then maybe we can see how functional he is at that weight. If he shows good workrate, stamina, and relatively nimble footwork in a solid win then it's not so bad. If he's lethargic, plodding and fades even in victory than that says all there has to be said about Solis needing to shed some lbs to be successful.

With all due respect to logic with his frame being 6' 1" it would benefit him to be 30 lbs less than that to maximize his abilities

Nothing wrong with being fat, killa.

    ...Unless you wanna box professionally.

10 times out of 10, holding all else equal, being in better shape will yield better results, and presumably, more entertaining maneuevers/capabilities/fights for the fans.

I hope Barrett can do two things...

    1. Beat Solis
    2. Enter the ring without almost killing himself.

You read it wrong or rather my post was easy to misunderstand. The only parallel I see between Arreola and Solis is the lack of diet and gym discipline.

    Fair play to Barrett.

I hope he stops Solis. Solis just doesn't have the dedication. At 6'2 (I think) he's pushing Valuev levels of weight. A disgrace, though giving he probably didn't have KFC growing up he does deserve it. Just doesn't deserve the hype and pay days he's getting for being a Cuban Amateur star, whereas his compatriots are making a good go at the Pro game.

A little larger resolution of the picture, Solis looks like he possibly added muscle mass rather than just fat, but it's hard to tell without more pics.

Solis should be absolutely ashamed of himself. He's got a good 50 pounds, at least, of worthless blubber on him.

Some have asked "are you sure?" about the 271? It's been reported by numerous outlets (Fightnews, etc).

Another recent NYC shot (he could carry the weight worse, but c'mon, he was originally slated to fight a top-10 opponent)...

Jesus, even Öner has less of a gut than Solis. Solis' gut is sticking right out!

Why does he wear a tight shirt when he's out of shape like that? It looks ridiculous.
