    - Does Andre Dirrell losing to Carl Froch make Froch a better talent at that point ?

    - Does David Haye losing to Carl Thompson make Thompson the better talent at that point ?

    - Does Zab Judah losing to Carlos Baldomir make Baldomir the better talent at that point ?

Even if Morales lost, he was still the better overall boxer and overall threat to Pacquiao as far as I'm concerned. He may not have been at his optimal past condition but still better than what Raheem could offer, win or lose. Anyone can lose to anyone on any given night if they are not fully ready for the biggest challenge possible. Morales may have underestimated Raheem but that didn't make him a lesser boxer, just like it wasn't Mayweather's fault if Corrales wasn't at his best when he faced him. That didn't stop Corrales from giving a few other great performances after...

As far as greatness & achievements are concerned, Mayweather`s are underrated & Pacquiao`s are overrated... the guy has some valid points but I dont agree with everything he says... I also think that its close between the two guys as far as ATG standing, the H2H would have been perfect to split them but that ship has sailed.

There`s little doubt that Mayweather is the superior fighting talent tho, that has long been my view when discussing those two.

    I just disagree.

Morales was and looked shot to ****.

Corrales wasn't past his best and shot. Morales was.

Morales never gave another great performance after that.

The only thing he's done is continue to fight when he shouldn't.

Morales was clearly not the same fighter that had fought Pacquaio the first time.

That's not Pac's fault nor am I blaming him. But Morales wasn't anything special as a fighter when pac beat him.

Past his very best I agree, nevertheless a bigger threat for Pacquaio than Raheem. As far as Morales looking like **** after, well maybe Manny had something to do with it also... + he just couldn't make weight anymore...at 130 lbs. The 3rd fight he was way too drained and that win for Pac has very little credibility in my book.

seriously i looked at the title and opened the thread expecting an analysis of Floyd's resume but then 90% was just a bunch of bull**** excuses to discredit Pac. Can't people like this judge Floyd's resume without talking about Pacquiao the whole time?

That says alot when you think about it.

I give Pacquiao all of the credit in the world for his first win over Barrera who even though he had been in two of his 3 wars with Morales. But lets look at the rest of his resume.

Cotto- Plasterfist got to him first
De La Hoya- Old and weight drained
    Morales II and III- shot
    Barrera II- shot
    Larios- moved up in weight
Diaz- weakest belt holder at 135
Hatton- The wheels had fallen off the Hatton mobile by the time they met
Solis- isn't going to be remembered by anybody. only notable win before his loss to Pacquiao was against a guy 22-4-3.
Joshua Clottey- This guy didn't even try to win.

Yeah that list is so much better than Mayweather's list of:

    Gernaro Hernadez
    Angel Manfredy
    Jesus Chavez
    Phillip N'dou
    DeMarcus Corley
    Arturo Gatti
    Ricky Hatton
Oscar De La Hoya- toughest fight at 154, who else was there at the time?
    Zab Judah
Carlos Baldomir- Now I already know, "he had 9 losses!!!!" but if Mayweather had fought Margorito and won this guy would be the one shoved out there with people saying "Floyd was scared because this guy beat Judah"
    Jose Luis Castillo
    Diego Corralles
And a boat load of contenders at 130

I'm not saying that Pacquiao's resume is ****, but if we can deconstruct Mayweather's resume and sceam this doesn't count, well Pacquiao has the same exact problems if not worse. His entire career comes down to beating a distracted Barrera if we play that game.

There was a lot of bull**** in that.... Some truths, but even the greatest resume can be trashed on by someone trying to do so....

I do believe like someone above posted that Mayweather's resume is underrated and Pac's is overrated, I can't help to agree with that....

I have read many posts of people having Pac in the top 15 already.... He clearly is not in my opinion.
