This young phenom, at only 20 years old, will on Friday take on her third opponent in the female top 15 pound for pound in as many years.

She burst onto the scene, from total obscurity, with a shock upset knockout of then-undefeated 2-division titlist Hanna Gabriel - in Costa Rica - to claim the WBO light middleweight title in 2013.

She then dropped to 147lbs and went after the women's p4p #2 (or #1 depending on whom you ask - for me she's right behind Delfine Persoon), Cecilia Braekhus - in Denmark. She was stopped in nine but put up a heck of a fight, especially for such a relative novice.

In a few days she will be throwing down - in France - with Anne Sophie Mathis, who is basically Antonio Margarito without the Y chromosome. :shock:

...and she can't even legally drink yet!

Not only is she atop the Dominican p4p list among females (either #1 or #2 behind Dahiana Santana) - both she and Santana are top 5 across the gender barrier. The only clearly superior men are Félix Díaz, Joan Guzmán and Juan Carlos Payano. I put both above the likes of Javier Fortuna (who should be getting exposed any day now) and Claudio Marrero (who already was, at the hands of Cuellar) - and both D-Rod and E-Rod (Delvin & Edwin Rodriguez) are pretty much American citizens at this point. The rest of the pack - Lorenzo, Cayo, etc - trails well behind.

Mathis & Castillo have a combined 33 knockouts in 47 contests, and both have brass ovaries. Fireworks are guaranteed!! :bbb

If so, and it conflicts with Thompson vs. Solis II, which it might, I may actually choose to watch this instead.
