I know there is a couple heads here from "Chiques" aka Oxnard. Anyways Robert Garcia, Fernando Vargas put this city on the map when they were champs. And they both trained at La COlonia Boxing Gym. And I know Robert Garcia has his own gym called Robert Garcia Boxing Academy in Oxnard. Whats the history behind La COlonia Boxing gym? Is it true Robert Garcia Senior opened and ran it for years? Who know runs it? Is it still open? and why didnt Robert Garcia take over that gym? So the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy and La COlonia Gym both coexist together? Are they rivals? or did Robert still all the good fighters?
I heard La colonia is still going strong.. a good friend of the families son is fighting over there in Oxnard and kids too. Dont know what gym, but ill ask him in the next couple days and get back with you... Sergio Martinez is also training in Oxnard too.
