This fine young specimen is stepping up slightly next month against Korean banger, 21-4 (19) Hwan-Young Park in his first outing since retiring Emanuel Augustus from the sport by way of knockout (the only time Emanuel admits to having been stopped by a punch in 75 professional outings - many of them against some real killers).

He earned YA's respect and netted international attention with this win, and it seems those who've been following him domestically have nothing but positive feedback on his progress and prospects.

Here's a great snapshot of that right hand:

This guy just looks fit and naturally strong as hell. Like, almost countryman Dick Tiger strong. It may be premature, but I think Wale vs. Berto in 2011 could have potential for FOTY at least at welterweight (assuming Mosley's out of the picture and not participating in any candidates himself).

He doesn't get much of a wrap on here but has a heap of talent. Love to see him do well. Knocking out Augustus is huge achievement just ask Micky Ward.

Heard Oye speaking on DSS' radio show a handfull of weeks ago - a real good mix of quiet ambition and good bloke. Took a risk last fight and reaped the reward. Hope he continues on his winnning way.

    Indeed it should!

I squirreled up some video of Park. Looks to be raw camcorder footage of his UD win over Somchai Nakbalee. The Thai fighter also lasted the distance against Omotoso (in fact, three months earlier) - for both men Nakbalee is one of only two wins not to come by stoppage.

The editing is pretty spastic, and it's hard to tell what's going on at many points. It appears Nakbalee took at least one knee (which may or may not have been ruled a KD) and on at least one other occasion was given a standing count by the referee.

It's weird, Wale and Park both appear to be decent punchers, but earlier in that same year before surviving to the final bell against both, Nakbalee was starched in 2 rounds by lightweight journeyman Ranee Ganoy. :think

Nakbalee actually beat Ganoy early in his career.

funny story...for the return fight (youtube above), both Nakbalee and Ganoy had to lose a few pounds to make weight. Because their wasn't a sauna available, they both shared the same car and turned the heater on. Very intimate and cosy :)

Ranee Ganoy might be a bit of a Lightweight fringe contender...but he is a huge banger & him KO'ing anyone is not really much of a surprise.
I have been high Oyewale Omotoso for some time & i think all he needs now is to get a better trainer to refine his skills further & he could then really go some places fast.

Murray Thomson...ok for a domestic level fighter...but if he wants to go places Omotoso will need to work with the likes of a Craig Christian..Billy Hussein or maybe 1 of the Grange guys.
Some may disagree but Thomson's knowledge is not comparable to Christian...Hussein etc.
Also the sparring these places will offer Omotoso would develop the fighter at a much faster rate..u wont see Thomson's stable sending fears through anyone.

Kegsy.. You really speak more **** than myself sometimes!!!

If you think the Murray Thompson stable is not on par with others nationally, you are sadly mistaken.

Murray is coming into his 53 promotion in Nov. Unlike others, he keeps things happening without contraversy or being ****ed over by the so called BIG WIGS of the game. The bloke has a tonne of crediblity. Why attempt to deflate him?? Is it because nothing negative can be said about him?? Or simply due to your knowlege of him being minimal?

Dont expect Oyewale to go into another stable... And dont expect him to be rushed into sudden loses for the sake of bull**** match making.

    Dont under estimate Murray.

Virtually everyone in South Korea is called Park or Choi or Lee or Kim. 95% of people have one of about 8 common surnames.
