Nah, not really. I'm pretty used to seeing it. Nice to see someone with Wills ahead of Dempsey for a change!

Their resumes are incomparable IMO. Wills's consistent level of competition shames Dempsey.

Anything you have a severe gripe with 55-100? Any glaring omissions other than Dixon?

Nah, not really. Lopez is a wee bit low for me, but I understand how that has happened.

    The "R" word.

Had he fought Chiquita and Carbajal, he would've been far higher (as Lopez would definitely have beaten both on the basis of the Sorjatorung performance IMO).

    dinamita. good thread.

going to pac, how would you rate him if he indeed beats hatton in his next fight and will be the first man to have 4 lineal championship. never been done before i guess. will he stay in his position in your list or if you move him up how far can he go in your list? thanks

Yep, he sneaked in there in the end, my explanation for that decision is to be found in a post responding to McGrain a page or so back.

However, I only call the top 50 fighters in history 'All-Time Greats' so Joe is some distance off attaining that title IMO.

If Pac beats Hatton then for me, he moves up that list significantly. I'd move him above Mayweather and Holyfield, onto a par with Chavez, Hopkins, Hearns and Hagler. As I said in the post you are responding to, if he beats Hatton (6th weight division), Mayweather (stone-cold ATG super-skilled unbeaten fighter), and wins a title at a 7th weight division, I'd put him top 10, on a par with Duran, Ali and Charles. I don't think there are enough great fighters around for him to penetrate the top 4 in my list, I don't think it is possible for him to achieve that level.

Because the criteria I use are: (a) RESUME, (b) ACCOMPLISHMENTS, (c) SKILLSET and H2H ABILITY AT BEST/NATURAL WEIGHT DIVISION.

Mayweather does not score that highly on (a), but he scores very highly on the others, thus meaning he is slightly higher than Pac (for now), but well ahead of the others you mention.

Hagler was a greater middleweight, Hopkins has had a greater career IMO. There is literally nothing to choose from between I rank them so closely, but when it comes to the crunch, I go with Hopkins because of his latter career success above 160 - something Hagler never done.

Thank you for the comment on the list, much appreciated from a poster such as yourself.

If you don't get why Duran is always rated so highly, then you cannot know much about his pre-Leonard career.

There is absolutely no way in hell Shane Mosley can be rated as high as De La Hoya.

Johnson was one of those who was eliminated in the final cut. This may have been due to bias as I wanted another great Scot to make it, Benny Lynch.

Thank you very much for the compliment Cobra :good
