Not bad ... who knows how Paul Williams will be ...

He might join the likes of Hearns, Leonard, Trindad, DLH, Robinson, and Duran ... guys who've won welterweight titles and went on to win middleweight titles.

I would throw Corey Spinks in that mix too ... because he was robbed against Jermain Taylor.

Spinks was robbed against Jermain Taylor ... I don't know if you seen the fight but yeah ... he was obviously robbed.

I dont really feel Williams uses his speed along with his reach well at all. The thing is, he uses it to let off an INSANE amount of punches...in a very awkward and tough to handle fashion. And I dont think Pavlik has the movement to negate that. Hense why I think Williams CAN win a decision.

But the problem I see is, Pavlik is so much stronger than Paul. And Williams, tho his power is underrated, doesnt have the power to TRUELY hurt Kelly. I see him walking Paul down and stopping him late.

But because in all likelyhood, he is going to have to walk Williams down, and with his defensive shortcomings, I think he will be down at the time of the stoppage.

Because of the way he lost to Quintana...people forget how fantastic he looked vs a fantastic fighter in Margarito the fight before that (whos got damn good power himself...not Pavlik power by any means...but damn good for a WW). He is a very good, awkward fighter. Im very shocked at how quickly people are giving him no chance here....if his punch resistance is as good at MW as it was at WW, we may be shocked at what happens in this fight.

Again, that said, I got Pavlik by KO.

If this fight happens Williams will be the first fighter ever to be impaled by a fist

Ok my bad, I've never really followed PWs and have only seen him fight at WW. I thought he was always at welter. Even so, we are talking about him fighting at a higher weight 5 yrs ago. it usually takes a bit to get your body to adapt to a new weight, hence why many times fighters take a tune-up fight or lighter competition when they attempt to move up.

To go against a guy like Pavlik, who is the championa and top in the division, and 13lbs north of what he's used to fighting at, is pretty ambitious. Ill give PWs credit for that if the fight goes through. The truth is that he is too technically flawed to deal with Pavlik, and I don't believe he has the physical gifts to compensate (as in lets say someone like Roy Jones in his best days)

Your forgetting that most fighters come into the ring well above their weigh in weight. Its the nature of the beast...I remember Clottey coming in at almost LHW vs Corrales at JWW.

I guarentee you that Williams has fought at or above 160 recently.

In between fights Pavlik is probably walking around solid at around 175lbs, Paul looks like he's been released from a concentration camp even in between his fights.

    It will be a slaughter.

I'll say this much for Paul Williams. He'll likely put up a helluva better fight against Pavlik than Raul Marquez will against Arthur Abraham. ( Not that the mandatory Raul Marquez fight is in any way the fault of King Arthur )

    Joke fight.

Taylor and AA would KO Williams, nevermind Pavlik.
