The recently knocked out Paul Williams (39-2, 27 KO’s) isn’t interested in taking an easy fight for his next bout and is aiming high for either a rematch against WBC Emeritus middleweight champion Sergio Martinez or fights against Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sadly, Williams’ chances of getting any of those fights are pretty much a dream at this point because Pacquiao and Mayweather simply aren’t going to fight the lanky 6’1″ fighter.

All of the above make Williams look like a 10 fight novice.

He makes more mistakes than Hatton did.

6'1? He's gotta be more like 6'3. Anyway, I hope he doesn't get a Martinez fight. I like Paul. He should be fighting a Bundrage type right now. A nice shiny 154-pound belt would like good on his record and actually set him up for something better.

    Dz
    vanes

Among others. It wil be pathetic if he cant get a decent fight soon

Unfortunately there isn't much he can bring to the table without being high risk. Tall, lanky guy with good work rate and coming off a loss.

When fighters take easy fights they are cherry picking or milking it, when they want the best there is, they are after a payday. Theres no winning with some boxing fans.

Anyway, for as long as he doesn't cross my path and gives me his bullcraps . . . fine with me. I'm trying to get away from all these trolls lately because it's making me look like one. :yep

Exactly. Very high risk, NO reward.

Among the three, a MARTINEZ fight is the most realistic, but Martinez is looking at something that would push his name further upward in the boxing books.

What's with the Hate for Williams wanting to fight the Best. So just because he lost by KO, versus a Top 3 P4P fighter....this makes him a Bum? Does anyone remember Duran, Hearns and Barerra being face-down on the canvas...do those losses make them less-respected fighters? Do you guys even understand who and what kind of fighter Paul Williams is? Here is a Fighter who at 147lbs took-on the challenge of fighting a fighter that no-one wanted to fight. And he fought this Particular fighter long before Cotto and Pacquiao did. In fact, Williams (his team) had to threaten a Law-Suit to get that fight. Who am I talking about...ANTONIO MARGARITO.

And when Williams couldn't secure a meaningful fight at 147lbs (translation...no-one at 147lbs wanted to fight him). He moved all the way up to 160lbs and fought Winky Wright. Then he called-out the Top Dog at 160lbs (at the time) in Kelly-Pavlik. When Pavlik pulled-out (several times) Williams didn't search around for the easiest fighter to pad his record, Williams People contacted Sturm, Sylvester and Mathew Macklin (several others as well). All either said NO or had fights in their backyard they didn't wanna cancel. Williams reach-out to a Top Ranked in Martinez...And he Got a close win. But Williams could have easily said NO to a rematch and could've move-on with a win over Martinez and never looked Back. But gave him the Rematch...and got KTFO. Now Williams still wants to fight the Best....HOW CAN YOU HATE ON A FIGHTER LIKE THAT? You guys say you don't like guys like Mayweather...a cocky-ass, arrogant,trash-talking ducker....RIGHT? Williams is none of that and has a FAN-FRIENDLY STYLE.

So the Question is: What's the "real" reason behind the HATE?
