Im not doubting Jones, it's just GSP is clearly better. He's cleaned out a less shopworn division than JJ

GSP has not fought in over a year.

He will not fight again for several months at least. He's not even wrestling training yet. At this moment in time, not only is he not the toughest guy in his division, he's not even able to fight at all. :-(

When he comes back, it will be against the top guy in the division. He will face that opponent with coming up on 2 years cage rust. There is so much uncertainty about him at the moment, it is impossible to put him at the top of the list. Since GSP last stepped into the cage, Jones has annihilated Rampage and Machida, and easily beaten Rashad.

If GSP had spent the last year dominating Diaz and/or Condit, then he would be impossible to deny at least the #2 spot. But he hasn't. He's spent the last year suffering a VERY serious injury, and then rehabbing it.

In the meantime, Jones' momentum cannot be denied.

Again, Im not dismissing Bones achievements, but...

Yes, you are dismissing Bones' achievements when you start discrediting his opponents, which were the best available to him in what was considered one of, if not THE most stacked and competitive divisions in the sport. And when you do it without even mentioning Anderson's less impressive competition, less impressive results and less impressive cleaning out of his division over the same time span, your agenda becomes more obvious. :nono

You want to start picking apart the opposition? :blood

    Shogun Rua
    Rampage Jackson
    Lyoto Machida
    Rashad Evans

They were the cream of the division. All champions, all experienced at the highest level, all proven PPV headliners. And pretty much the only fights any of those 4 had lost recently were to one of the other three. :-(

Then Bones came along and crushed them all in seemingly effortless fashion.

Much more impressive than good wins over Okami and Belfort, and a last-gasp stoppage of 10-times defeated submission magnet Chael Sonnen, which saved Anderson from one of the most humiliating title defeats of an ATG in UFC history.

:patsch Yep...Cause Bones faced Shogun BEFORE the double knee surgery,Machida before he had been kodden AND outpointed, and Page was obviously at his best beating the legend that is Matt Hamill...

Again, there is nowt wrong with the new clearing out the dead wood. But GSP is clearly ahead in any respectable P4P ranks...

Shogun was THE CHAMPION. Your excuses are bull****. If Shogun wasn't medically ready to fight, then that is on him. He should not have stepped into the cage if he was not ready to defend THE TITLE.

The fact is, if that was a competitive fight then you would have been happier with Jones. But starting from 10 seconds into the fight, it was such a one-sided hiding that you can't accept the fact that Jones just handed Shogun his ass that easily. It's obvious to anyone that the flying knee ****ed Shogun up right out of the gate, before his body had adjusted to being in a fight, and he never recovered. It wasn't his dodgy knees that caused him to lose, it was Jones beating the living **** out of him as soon as the fight began. From 15 seconds into the fight, Shogun was fighting in a daze and that is SO clear on the video. :-(

With regards to Machida, yeah Rampage decisioned him and Shogun KOed him. Which is why both of them got molested by Jones first. :good

I guess a challenger has to be undefeated in his career for Jones to get full credit now, does he? Like Bader? Was Bader a better win for Jones than Machida or Rashad were? :conf

Can you even read? Or are you just too dense to comprehend simple sentences?

I said in my second post:

See Jones ranked BELOW GSP? Because I think that GSP has had the greater career. Understand? For their OVERALL CAREERS, I rank GSP over Jones.

    But recently?

    What has GSP done?

Not fought for over a year. Watched the interim WW title be created and won by Condit, who will defend it against someone else before GSP is back, and as of now, he's WEEKS away from booking a fight.

I've already freely acknowledged that GSP has had a better career so far than Jones.

In TODAY'S p4p list, he doesn't feature. He's too inactive. Hasn't fought in over a year, doesn't have a fight scheduled, and is physically incapable of competing.

Meanwhile, over that time, Jones has put together one of the greatest runs ever seen in the sport's history. But he can't leapfrog over a guy who hasn't even fought in that time and can't even book a fight now. :patsch

I lay out an argument. You post emoticons, roll out excuses for your favourite fighters, apply rating standards to one guy but not to another, refuse to address the points I make, and completely fail to state any case of your own. So now convince me why what GSP has done in the cage lately (as opposed to what he did 4 or 5 years ago) should put him over Bones.

Quote me where I post emotions as opposed to valid points...nice attempt at a dodge...lately...lol convince me that the points I raised are invalid 1st

Seeing as you are quick to dismiss any PRIDe fights because you heard Chael do a promo on the Ref's wearing earpieces, justify Jones' best wins over 2 PRIDE veterans

What points have you made? :huh

You have tried to **** on Jones' opponents in an attempt to keep him away from the #1 spot, or from being above GSP anyway. And you have completely ignored GSP's inactivity, his current inability to compete, and the questions about the effects of the injury and cage rust when he does return. Which is the only thing keeping him out of the listings and which is not something that you can just shrug off. :-(

You aren't even arguing or discussing or making a case at all. You are just waiting until I post, then you reply "nuh-uh." There's barely any indication that you even read or comprehend what I type, so poor are the quality of your retorts. :bart

Are you a moron? How exactly am I supposed to quote an example of you ignoring something? :patsch

How about you show me where exactly you acknowledged that GSP's inactivity is a significant issue that justifies examination of his place in the CURRENT p4p list?

Show me where you acknowledged that his inactivity was a concern now that he has spent MORE THAN A YEAR out of the cage, is currently completely unable to compete, and is still MONTHS away from even booking a fight, let alone getting in the cage, let alone winning.

Better yet, show me where you explained the reasons why his achievements of 4-6 years ago should keep him at the top of the list even though he isn't even an active fighter now and his competition is putting together one of the greatest runs the sport has ever seen. :good

Well you claimed I was ignoring something, surely you'd have something to back that up., only a ****ing moron would claim otherwise. It's your claim, back it up.

So, show me where Shogun's achievement 5/6 years ago in a org you are quick to dismiss proves that Jones is the P4P no 1

And please, back up your claims
