It's a shame Valero went. That **** was ****ing stupid. See DeMarco fightt, once he got cut he went nuts. Aside from Duran, he was the man.

 

Donaire may be fighting shorter guys, but boxing is about weight and he's making the limit. The way he changed the Darchinyan and Montiel fight with one punch was amazing. Great display against world level fighters.

Someone mentionned Golovkin and I agree. That guy's been koing guy since the amateurs without breaking a sweat. He doesn't seem to have to hit the guy flush (like Donaire), to hurt him.

Pacquiao is one of the only guy I know who's kept his power so much while climbing up the divisions, so he would probably be my #1 choice... and I'm definitly not a *******.

 

People who say Donaire isn't a puncher are nuts. His good boxing skills overshadow the fact that the man can bang. Look at the way all these other top tier bantamweights have struggled against him & then look at that amazing left hook Donaire stopped him with.

Some other good picks right now

Wlad- Hits hard with that straight right and is one of the few fighters out there who actually scares his opponents. Too bad he doesn't have a hook

Ortiz- Explosive power combined with good hand speed make Ortiz a danger at welter or Jr. welter for anyone. Probably the best puncher out there. If he wasn't dumber than a bag of flour and didn't lose focus he could really do something big

Pacquiao- Showed one punch power against Hatton, but most of his KO lately are from continual punishment over the fight. Fast, accurate, hard hitter, but not a banger like the others.

Martinez- He hits pretty hard but apart from the Williams fight I don't think he has that one-punch KO power. His athleticism is his main weapon.

 

I disagree, he put Ray Austin to sleep with 3 consecutive left hooks

 

Giovani Segura should be up there somewhere.

P4P wise it has to be Donaire: knocked out the tough Darchinyan with a single punch, same goes for Montiel (ref should have stopped it). His knockdowns against Sidorenko were really scary.

That's the way Sidorenko, a former champion with multiple defenses, looked after only four rounds with Donaire:

There's a difference between KO artists (i.e. Randall Bailey) and really heavy hitters (i.e. Marcos Maidana) Not sure which one the TS meant, but I'll go with the pure KO punchers.

Donaire stopped two guys that had never been stopped previously and have not been stopped since; world champions in multiple weight classes. That's some extreme power on Donaire.

Rios does some serious damage every time I've seen him fight. He's a pressure fighter, but one of the few that has KO power. Even completely weight-drained and lifeless, he stopped John Murray. (who is one tough guy)

Martinez has displayed some fantastic power since his move to Middleweight. (funny, because he used to be considered a relatively light-hitter)

Wlad scores some great KO's. He'll be dominating for a long time.

Ortiz is a great puncher. Most fighters (top or not) have hit the canvas at least once. I don't think any fighter (save for Khan) was able to even drop Maidana once. That right hook is powerful.

Abraham may be the number one, though. Despite his lack of skills, the only fighter he wasn't able to get to and hurt was Froch. I've never seen a fighter with power quite like his. (maybe Julian Jackson)

Exactly! Other than Froch, it seems every good shot that Abraham lands hurts his opponent.

imo he has the most brutal left hook in boxing right now if he starts throwing it.

donaire has excellent ability, and his shots are extreme accurate and his timing is ****ing great. but his power is just above average
