Even though Meldrick Taylor had extremely fast hands, I'm more impressed with the speed of RJJ and Camacho in their primes. They not only could throw flurries with a lot of speed, but they could throw full-on combos with leverage extremely fast as well. Taylor's super fast combos were often arm punches, although not always (the one in round 10 vs. Chavez was great). Camacho and RJJ also had quicker feet/legs.
Meldrick Taylor Hector Camacho Roy Jones Jr. Sugar Ray Leonard Pernell Whitaker Manny Pacquiao These guys never get mentioned for their speed but they were pretty fast in their prime handspeed wise: Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson Johnny Tapia
How can Floyd Patterson not be at the top .. exceptional combination punching speed .. Tyson .. amazing Ali Robinson Leonard Camacho Jones Hearns Duran at 135 Terry Norris Jack Johnson James Corbett Larry Holmes Evander Holyfield
You'd probably have to figure out who the fastest were by division, and then figure out how much faster than their division each was. Just saying that Ray Leonard or Hector Camacho was fast doesn't mean as much considering how small they were. P4P Ali, Tyson, or Patterson might be even faster even though they were heavyweights. Roy Jones is a great pull for fastest light heavyweight. Who was lightning at middleweight?
Feet - Pep, Jones, Whitaker, Ali. Hands - Jones, Griffith, Khan, Pacquiao, Patterson. Overall Camacho and Tyson.
I'm glad the true GOAT Sugar Nicky is finally getting his just dues. The powers of boxing had to rob him in the ring to get him out of the way. He was an absolute speed demon in his blazing prime. Roy Jones, Taylor and Leonard Not saying he was the quickest but Hearns handspeed seems a bit underappreciated to me.
