I can't stand the Welterweight version and the winner of Pac/JMM will be my #1 P4P, as Joy Boy is doing NOTHING this entire year.:good
I don't know what you consider to be an A+ fighter, but Mosely at 147 wasn't one. A+ fighters don't almost get their heads knocked off in their prime like Mosely did. With that being said, I don't rate anyone that Floyd has beat as an A level fighter. Judah, Corrales, Castillo, and DLH all get a B+
"if he faces the top WW's . . .the dude is probably ducking them for a reason. Let him stop ducking, get in the ring. . . we'll see what happens - then we can have this discussion" So true his needs to fight top fighters to rank-not old guys or guys who struggle at his weightclass. Kevin Iole on Yahoo! Boxing doesn't even rank him in the top 100 and I agree.
skillwise i'd say he's up there, and i i dont even like the guy.. but his whole mindset on "take the fight with the least gamble, and biggest profit" is why i believe floyd fans and boxing fans alike will never be able to say "floyd mayweather is undeniable the greatest of all time".. but also if you're talking pure skills, i'd put b-hop up there to...
Wait you are ranking Floyd the "Pretty Boy" Floyd whos afraid to get his face scratched above Arguello, and Chavez? What the fuk is wrong with this guy. Let me tell you something Chaves was 89 and 0 before he finaly lost just to prove he was the dominant fighter of his decade and here we have the #1 pound for pound in his prime taking a year off to have a wrestling match.......what a joke
Top 25 all time based on skills and accomplishments (although most people probably have him slightly HIGHER [I mean]. Too much is unfair, though, imo). I agree about his skills though. He's probably higher in terms of H2H p4p all time (what does that even mean???)
I guess your comparision is somewhat unfair as there are other fighters (such as Whitaker, Duran, etc...) who you could also apply the same theory to but, aren't. If you were born a few years earlier and watched the likes of Roy Jones you would be even more impressed. In his prime Jones's fights weren't even close. His fight against Pazienza really impressed me. Floyd's skills are excellent but, other aspects such as courage, ferocity (Duran), height and reach advantage, power, etc... also play a role in giving you the edge.
Anyway, I have him at #39. I think this is about right, I also think that if he keeps his head right he could finish higher.
His career isn't over yet. I think he has the potiontial to be #1 ATG P4P. This dose not mean that he will be just that he can be #1.
Another 10 fights against the very very best, remaining unbeaten or avenging defeat and then there will be something to discuss.
