Floyd did not duck Shane - He offered a fight to Shane at lightweight - Shane declined to move up to welterweight. FLoyd moved on and is now the p4p king. Shane doesn't deserve a shot at Floyd ... He lost 5 fights, hasn't won a title since 03' and has beat anyone significant since DLH. Winky said that Floyd was too small to fight him, which is the truth so he declined to fight Mayweather. No reason to duck Cotto, they will fight and Floyd will win ...
Don't count on the **** happening ... Cintron will get beat again versus Margarito. He almost lost to Feliciano ... he was getting pounded. Cintron has showed that if he can't knock you out he will fold and won't win. If you can take his shots like Margarito did and fire back he will quite so to speak. He will fall under the same fate he did the first time against Margarito. Now it turns out that Margarito is in line to face Cotto -- But hey don't count out Gomez -- Gomez is live and he will bring his "A" game. Look for an upset down the line ... Now that Cotto has him mind on PBF - he might be looking past his future opponents. I see Gomez pulling an upset -- He fought bigger guys (middleweights and super middleweights) he took so good shots and gave some good shots. Don't look at his record and sleep on him ... he has deceptive power and has a good chin. I question Cotto's chin and it will interesting to see what he does against Gomez. Also Gomez is bigger naturally than Cotto. If Cotto chooses to box he might have a good night but if he tries to put on a show in front of his fans and brawl he will be going to sleep.
You make some good points and i def could see some of your predictions happening. Either way it turns out, i think PBF should wait until the best rises and fights him next year - so it could be Margo, or even Gomez, who knows? :good
Who knows ... it all depends on Cotto's focus and determination. If he as discipline as people expect him to have? Cotto has alot of questions that needs to be answered on route to a fight with Mayweather. (one being his chin and inability to stop the right hand -- he truly seems to be a southpaw fight orthodox) He's a good fighter and on the rise -- but he definitely needs to face better oposition than a faded Judah and a faded Mosley. I can tell you this ... Top Rank is doing a good job of hyping Cotto and marketing him to the casual boxing fan. He's exciting to watch, has a good amateur background, and is a champion. We'll just have to see...
At 130, I rank him above Chavez and Arguello. This is based on a head to head/accomplishment criteria. At 130, I'd favor him over Chavez as well as Arguello. But all time, I still rank Chavez and Arguello ahead of him. A lot of people may disagree with the Arguello ranking, but he probably has one of the most underrated resumes of all time.
I think he will contune to fight. He allways talks retirement but I think he likes being "MoneyMay" and for him despite his outside interests (Danceing with the Stars and WWE) the Money for Mayweather is in boxing.
Oscar does absolutely nothing for him, and no way in hell he outranks any of these guys, at the very least, even if he does beat Cotto. An argument for top 30 comes into play there though, depending on how he does it. 1. Ray Robinson 2. Harry Greb 3. Henry Armstrong 4. Sam Langford 5. Muhammad Ali 6. Ezzard Charles 7. Roberto Duran 8. Barbados Joe Walcott 9. Mickey Walker 10. Barney Ross 11. Ray Leonard 12. Pernell Whitaker 13. Willie Pep 14. Benny Leonard 15. Joe Louis 16. Archie Moore 17. Joe Gans 18. Bob Fitzsimmons 19. Carlos Monzon 20. Marvin Hagler 21. Tony Canzoneri 22. Julio Cesar Chavez 23. Alexis Arguello 24. Gene Tunney 25. Sandy Saddler 26. Roy Jones Jr. 27. Emile Griffith
If Mayrunner is top 30 then Cotto must be top ten! Look at the records and ages opponents of Cotto Vs Mayrunner! It's a joke! And Cotto is 4 years younger! http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=33535&cat=boxer http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=352&cat=boxer
Floyd hasn't really beaten anyone amazing to be ranked so high in the pound for pound rankings. The Gatti's and Baldomirs won't cut it. However with names like Mosley and Cotto (Whether you think Mayweather will starch him easily or not) on his resume he can certainly make a case. He has the potential to be ranked very high, but the quality of the opposition isn't there. If he keeps going the way he's going he's going to be one of those 'what if' fighters.
Void's best fight was when he lost to Castillo in their first fight, judges gave it to Void, but the controversy caused a fan uproar.
