brewer reid and veit are bums lacy and kessler are overrated and hopkins was 43 at the time and jones was 39
If Froch doesnt deserve top 10 or top 20 then noway in world does Ward. I struggle to see even how people can place Ward over Froch simply due to one win over Kessler. And as already pointed out you just cant use the A beat B who Beat C method because on many occasions throughout boxings history thats been proved to not mean anything.
If Froch Beats Abraham I think its time to start talking about him going into the Hall regardless of whether or not he wins the tournament....guys just don't have a run like Pascal UD, JT TKO, Dirrell SD, Kessler close loss, and AA win anymore...Not to mention the only guy he lost too he pretty much sent into retirement inspite of losing...most great fighters go an entire career building up a resume like that...Froch will have done it in 5 straight fights without a break. Serious props.
You're talking about bumping Froch up a number of spots if he beats Abraham, so I think Abraham's relatively weak resume IS relevant here. As for Ward vs Froch - Ward: - Dominant win over consensus #1 SMW Mikkel Kessler - Dominant win over top 10 ranked SMW Allan Green - Dominant win over top 15 SMW Edison Miranda Froch: - Loss to Mikkel Kessler - Controversial win over "unproven" (your own words) Andre Dirrell, which I scored as a wide loss for Froch - Win over Jermain Taylor on a last minute come from behind knockout - Close win over top 10 ranked SMW Jean Pascal (who, granted, has gone on to improve significantly since then) - Dominant win over top 20 ranked SMW Brian Magee (who has also gone on to bigger things since then) - Win over shot to hell Robin Reid Even if Froch and Ward both win tomorrow, I'd still have Ward ahead. I don't rate Abraham THAT much more than Bika. I have Abraham ranked #6 at SMW and Bika ranked #7. In terms of overall competition, I'll agree that Froch has faced one of the toughest schedules out there over the past couple years, but not THE toughest, and considering how he hasn't posted a single convincing win, actually lost once and should have lost another time, it's tough for me to rank him all that highly. And keep in mind, I don't have Ward ranked in my top 10 either. But unless you think Froch actually beat both Kessler and Dirrell, there isn't much of an argument to rank him ahead of Ward right now. Ward kicked the **** out of Kessler and Froch went life and death with him. Over time, Froch may prove to be better, but Ward's resume, right this minute, is better than Froch's. So now are you going to answer which of Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez, Marquez or Klitschko you would rank Froch ahead of? Or are you just going to keep calling me names and digging yourself a bigger hole?
100% for losing to Kessler and Dirrel with 18 fights he should be in the top ten P4P of the SUPER SIX. We would love to hear your thoughts after his performance in Finland. Even if he wins big he is still not even the best in a 6 man tournament.
