At 147 lbs, he could not hurt the lightweight JMM, who also recently claimed that a lightweight he once fought hit harder than the welterweight Floyd. That **** cannot be said of Calzaghe. Calzaghe would definately hurt fighters of a lower weight division.

    both have solid power.
earlier in their careers i would give it to calzaghe. he was a genuine banger.

later stages of their career, calzaghe concentrated on volume punching whereas mayweather actually tries to hurt you with one or two sharp punches.

Oh ****in hell. Floyd by far. I love calzaghe but floyd when he chooses to can be a big puncher. His power is slept on even at these higher weights

I'd say Mayweather, he used to have good power when he was fighting in the in the lower weight classes.

That wouldn't be hard since they are from a lower division.

He was getting the better of Cotto in the exchanges. A former 130 pounder brawling with a filled out Jr middle. Had him ready to go towards the end. Floyd can punch his ass off when he wants to. He just doesnt usually have to because hes a defensive fighter. He reminds me of wilfred benitez in that regard. Chooses to box but can **** you up when he wants to. Two different styles but you get what i'm saying.

Floyd has average power. It's his technique and accuracy that makes the punch much more effective than it should be.

And for his pin-point accuracy it takes him a while to actually stop opponents.

Calzaghe has shown he has more pop in his punches especially early in his career.

Both guys are haunted by weak hands but still it's Calzaghe for me.

Calzaghe was feather-fisted, did he ever stop anybody who wasn't a disgrace? And did he ever have a stoppage that in itself wasn't disgraceful?
