Rigondeaux will be P4P king between now and 2015 but by then he will be 34 and much past his prime. Smaller fighters age quicker so he probably won't be top dog anymore by 2015.

Five years is a very long time in boxing so it is tough to call but I'll hazard a guess with the following boxers:
    Golovkin, Frankie Gavin, Gamboa, Dawson.

People laugh at Wlad being mentioned but I don't think it is that ridiculous. His brother is nearly five years older than him and he is far from shot at the moment. If Wlad continues to dominate he would be in there. He is top 10 p4p at the moment in my eyes.

Khan will be 28 by then, which is a nice prime age for a boxer, so he might be it. Ward, Valero, Maidana, JuanMa, Gamboa, and etc. also, but in their 30's by then.

I really can't see Khan or Maidana set to to be top dog. Khan has the skills and speed of a top fighter but his chin will let him down. He will be KO'd sooner or later. Maidana is a tough fighter but he will be beaten against a slick fighter and one who can take a punch, he is limited.

I'm still not sold on Valero is has the heart, toughness and offensive quality to be great but he is a bit reckless and I think he could be picked apart by a JM Marquez type fighter. Thing is though, Pac looked a bit like Valero five years ago, so I won't rule him out. Especially if Freddy Roach gets his hands on him. On the other hand, he seems to be a bit of a maniac and could self destruct any moment and mess up his career a la Tyson.

I know everyone is putting an emphasis on Khan's chin because of the Prescott loss, but that was a good solid flush punch from Prescott. I won't argue too much over it though, if people disagree. Maidana will become a top 10 pfp boxer. I just feel it. He may not take the top spot, but he's always got a puncher's chance (LOL). Valero's main weakness is not inside the ring, but outside. It's his outside the ring behavior that will eventually catch up to him, and destroy his boxing career and family, if he doesn't mature and change his attitude.

Valero hands down he is the truth. Honorable mention to Gamboa and Kirkland though. Valero and Kirkland have serious personality issues and anti-social personality problems though which could cut their careers.

A lot can happen in five years. Anybody's guess, but for the sake of answering the thread, hmm...Andre Ward or Chad Dawson would be my guess. I don't think Andre will lose in the tournament and I expect Dawson to continue his run at 175. If this matchup is made, it might determine who sits atop the throne as Hopkins, Pac, Mayweather, JMM, and Mosley will be out the door by that time.
