Marquez MD or SD, but he's going to have to dig deep. Diaz's strength will be a problem for JMM. I believe in him though. Come on DINAMITA!!!!

By stoppage or points JMM . . . is the logical choice . . . but my heart is with Diaz.

The worst happened to the division this Saturday: Nate Campbell lost his titles on the scales BUT won the fight, so Ali Funeka didn't become the IBF and WBO LW champion - the titles became vacant.

With Campbell moving up in weight, we can forget the big fight between The Ring titleholder and the unified champion to determiate the undisputed champion of the LW division. Campbell's lack of professionalism after all the trash talk when Guzman failed to make weight is ironic but also very sad. One less superfight out there.

Oh well, a LW tournament is coming up with Valero-Pitalua, Casamayor-Julio Diaz, Katsidis-Chavez and Barrios-Hernandez, so the Marquez-Diaz winner will have several options.

But the winner can forget LW unification for a while. Nice job Nate! :-(

Performance of the year maybe, no way fight of the year. Not competitive enough to be named FOTY, and there won't be any all action brawling.

Marquez is a bad match up stylistically for Diaz, JM will find big gaps in that defence to counter punch all night. Diaz has enough in the chin and heart department to at least see the fight out, however if Marquez catches him with accurate punches he can't see as he's going in, he could finish him later. I'll stick with Marquez UD though, something like 117-111.

I don't know about that, sure JMM-Nate would of been interesting to unify the Ring belt and 2 other belts, but Nate had already vacated the WBA, and the WBC is still vacant aswell is it not?

That means instead of perhaps one fight, being Nate vs the winner of this fight, we could see several fights between guys like JMM, Funeka, Guzman, Valero, Juan Diaz, Julio Diaz, Katsidis, Casamayor etc for the vacant belts, and then possible unification. Now THAT possibility is something I'm really looking forward to.

I can see JMM winning this easily although I don't see him KOing Diaz. It will like hes fighting a Pac with the same relentlessness but with less pop.

Going with JMM... Diaz is younger and stronger but I think his style might just be made for a crafty counterpuncher like JMM, and JMM can hurt him in the middle rounds or late.
