    so opinion wasn't split on who was the better between pac and jmm? are you really claiming that?

    I can go back and dig loads of stuff up but I fear the thread will derail.

    pac and floyd are only two names.

    no one has mentione Tyson yet so I'll give a shout out to the big guy: only HW who made number on the lists (unless you wanna count jones jr in 03)

    However, I think you've given Pac the JMM draw but then not noted it as a loss on JMM's record??

    I could have incorrectly interpreted that though, apologies if so.

    Great stuff, much like your HW list in the classic.

    the draw is agapito sanchez, the losses are morales and singsurat and I had winning both fights with JMM by 1 point. hope that clears it up a bit.

    Thanks, yeah it was my HW one that inspired me to do this, maybe if I find the time I'll backdate to the 80's and beyond but my summer is almost over now (I'm a teacher so I return to work august 31st) so it could be a while till I find myself the time I've had recently.

    It wasnt split at all. At most you had 20% claiming JMM was no.1. In the same way whilst Floyd was active you had 30% claiming Pac was no.1. If you look at the Ring p4p 1 list, at no point was JMM ever no.1.

    Pac had just destroyed Morales, beat JMM in a close fight, whitewash MAB and anihilated Diaz gaining a new belt at LW.

    You could argue that H2H Pac & JMM were even but thats not how it works, thats just styles. Norton & Ali H2H were pretty even but no one would argue they were equal p4p. Put it into perspective, fighting a common opponent in MAB, Pac destroyed MAB whereas JMM went split decision.

    if anyone is offended by seeing tito's and jmm's resume up there they can leave the thread.

    there wasn't much between pac and jmm, I was around then so no amount of revisionism will change anything imo. those two were clearly the top dogs.

    anyways, it's no big deal is it.

    I'm not offended, dont care. I'm just pointing out a mistake in your post, afterall you are presenting it as fact.

    BTW if you look at my join date of 2005, you will see I was aorund then too and much more active. At no point was he ever #1, you could argue some rated him 1 but you could argue that for any top 3.

    Good breakdown anyhow.

    Which of those fighters do you think fought the best fighters when you take in how good certain fights where luf? For instance Barrera>Malinga in terms of a win.

    Very good question. Personally i'm tempted to say whittaker as a lot of his best wins seem at the right time considering circumstances: unifying the lightweight division, facing the best sfw's, mcgirt prime oscar etc.

    My only knock might be he should have faced tito earlier but he even fought him eventually.

    Yeah i'd have to settle on pea tbh.

    I'd completely agree with you. As you say, Tito earlier probably would have been much better for him because he was practically washed up by then. Not everything can happen at the right time if you have such a long and successful career as Whitaker did though.
