The only people who dont have Haye at the bottom end of the top 10 or just outside it are Americans like you bigtime, who cant accept the fact that Haye is better than ANY American heavyweight or cruiserweight. The rest of the world knows what he's about.
Hopkins made a career fighting at a weight 15lbs south of where he would have liked to be......FACT. He is a naturaly Lt Heavy, by his own admission. This is a P4P List. His best wins come against two former Welterweights and a former Jr Middleweight champ....up at 170lbs. The Tarver win isn't that impressive given Tarver was coming off a movie set and simply not nearly as good as he was when Glen Johnson beat him. Who gives a **** is Pavlik had trouble with Taylor, this is boxing. He BEAT him both times, there is no disputing that. Hopkins has two "L"s on his resume from the same guy and there is no disputing that either. And what do you mean "stepped up" and fought Wright, Wright is a natural 154lber.
1. Mayweather 2. Calzaghe 3. Pacquiao 4. Marquez 5. Vasquez 6. Cotto 7. Calderon 8. Guzman 9. Kessler 10. Haye Honourable mentions to Mijares and Dawson who have the skillset to make it in the near future
The criteria is: who are currently the best fighters in the world, at their weight? i.e. if A is currently better at A's weight than B is currently at B's weight, A is higher ranked than B. Now...why don't you TRY to explain why you have Hopkins and Wright where you have them?
Bernard Hopkins is a natural 175lber. Winky Wright is a natural 154lber..maybe 160lber. They fought at 170 and Winky was doing well until he clearly gassed from Hopkins hugging and holding him all fight. It would be like Floyd Mayweather fighting Juan Manuel Marquez kind of if you really think about it. That is why. P4P Winky is better.....even by your criteria. If Winky stayed at 154 nobody would beat him, I dont think this is even up for debate. He moved up for money. If Hopkins actually fights the best at HIS WEIGHT, he may lose which is why he chose to call up Winky after he beat Tarver. And you didn't answer why you have Mosley 14 spots below Cotto.
He's still EASILY NOT one of the best 10 fighters in world, are you ****ing kidding me?:-( :nut
I very much doubt Winky could make 154 At 160 he's not doing anything, he's on the way down. Abraham and Pavlik both KO him
If you make a case for Hopkins being dropped from the top 10 then I would definitely consider it and maybe even agree. But Winky...no. Like I said, before the Hopkins fight he was in my top 3. Until he gets beaten at his own weight, or more time passes and he doesn't do **** to prove he still has it, he is staying in my top 10. I personally believe he can still beat anybody at 160lbs, he beat Taylor I thought and his style would give Pavlik nightmares and 154 jsut forget about it.
Well, his weight is 160 now...not 154. Secondly, if Winky is in the Top 10, why are Taylor and Pavlik not ahead of him; and if Pavlik is in the top 10, why isn't Haye? You see where this is going...Wright gets pushed out. There is no good reason to put Wright in the top 10 save the fact that you are used to seeing him there; if you start thinking from first priciples, leaving bias and orthodox opinion aside, you cannot rank him better than 15th or so...
Calling someone else's SUBJECTIVE p4p list BAD is pretty bad form itself, mate. I mean, this was also coming from a guy who trys to put Pac/JMM and Joe C as a tie with Mayweather (or a toss up) - IMO, that's worse than not putting on Mijares or Guzman. P4P lists are all subjective, hence why you think that YOUR personal list is better than BTD. Doesn't actually make it so.
Of course they are all subjective; I didn't want to get into another argument about the top 4, so I didn't go there; I wanted to talk about 5 onwards, because this is where the real and important disagreement occurs. And no...just because all p4p lists are subjective doesn't mean that some are not objectively better than others!:deal
