    1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Shame ward won't be able to claim p4p number one after he beats kovalev until Floyd retires again.

No. 2 years off + fighting someone who's 0-0. He won't make anywhere near, this is just an exhibition match - a circus show, that's all.

That his return is against an inexperienced boxer shouldn't be what might have a bearing on his p4p level. If you thought he was the best boxer in the world 21 months ago you could still consider him the best now. The critical question is only whether we should assume at 41 and with that inactivity he's the same guy he was against Berto and Pacquiao. So if you want to simply not include him in your list because of inactivity, fine, your list your rules.

But I will assume with his style and in-ring smarts, despite likely physically slowing down a bit he'd be able to continue adapting to make the most of his unmatched skill, and beat every boxer under middleweight in the planet in two months. I can't say I can identify a weakness in Lomachenko either and of course he's in his prime so I almost want to keep him number 1 above Floyd, but I think we have to say that Floyd has the edge in defensive skill and ability to control a match through 12 rounds. But if Floyd loses as much as a minute of any round against McGregor I'll immediately remove him completely!

I maintain a top 25, and Floyd returning does move Pacquiao completely out of it, lol.

    1. Mayweather
    2. Lomachenko
    3. Rigondeaux
    4. Crawford
    5. Ward
    6. Kovalev
    7. Inoue
    8. Mikey Garcia
    9. Gonzalez
    10. Estrada

Ward is universally recognized as the pound for pound king. Floyd had a hell of a run as p4p king but his time has now passed.

Hes not back. This can not be regarded as his 50-0. I know it will be on paper, but this is pathetic. Everyone thought Floyd was cherry picking Berto to get his 49-0. Berto would spark McGregor in 1 round. This fight shouldn't count for his 50th pro fight. He'll hold the best boxing record ever down to fighting a non boxer

I want his 50th to count against someone half good in boxing is what I'm saying. he deserves his 49-0, hes special...This is cheapening it
