Hagler by decison. Of course. Marciano never fought anyone even approaching the caliber and class of a Hagler type, and he had some close calls with shot champions and standard opposition. Hagler on the other hand proved his pedigree. Throw all that **** out the window and Hagler just had the box of tools, durability, and professionalism to take Marciano apart. Marvin would land 3-1 and completely embarrass Rocky in the process.
Hagler wins the Battle of Brockton, p4p. Marciano would have some moments but Hagler's superior boxing ability should win it for him.
p4p this is a bad matchup for Marciano. Hagler would win a decision if they were the same size. Not a route of course cause Marciano is a seriously underrated boxer but I think it would be clear.
No way. If Tommy Hearns could stun Hagler, and John Mugabi could give him hell, just think what Marciano would do.
I think he is talking about if they were naturally the same size. Of course Marciano would kayo Hagler if they fought with both fighters at their peak weights. He has a 25 lb. weight advantage
Nonsense. Hagler may win, but it'd be no walk in the park, unless you rate Antuofermo as a better swarmer/pressure fighter than Marciano. Marciano faced the likes of Walcott(who, at his peak was close to Hagler's level), Charles and Moore(both past prime but still suitable opposition), and a shot Louis. Not to mention the likes of Nino Valdes, Roland LaStarza, etc. His opposition was not as bad as you're making it out to be. As for the fight, I don't know why people sleep on Marciano in P4P matchups, considering he wouldn't be outsized like he would in fantasy HW matchups against the likes of Lewis, Ali, Foreman, etc. His relentless come-forward style and workrate would definitely cause Hagler problems, though Hagler's ability to piece up aggressors was one of his best attributes. Still, Marciano's relentless workrate would cause Hagler to tire quite possibly, similar to the first Antuofermo fight. He wasn't the type of fighter to fight solely on the move all fight long, and while he'd have success on the inside at times, for the most part he'd want to keep the fight on the outside, with Marciano always looking to close the distance. It'd be a close, very competitive, action-packed fight, which Hagler likely taking most of the early rounds, Marciano coming on strong down the stretch. Probably similar to Cotto/Margarito, difference being Hagler's durability and ring smarts. I'd assume Hagler would take a 9-6 type Decision over 15.
Stylistically Marciano would really mess with Hagler. His stance of staying in a crouch position and stalking to throw that lead right would be murder on a southpaw. Also remember Marciano wasn't that much bigger. He was a small heavyweight but he had the knockout power to rock those bigger guys. Imagine the kind of hurt he'd put on a guy his own size.
Neither have been knocked out. I think they have each only been down once. The two greatest of all time. Hagler gets the best of him the first half of the fight...Rocky starts having moments here and there in the mid to late...action slows in the late rounds...when it picks up in the 15th Hagler goes through the ropes. Marciano KO15 Hagler It's OK though...the only person who can beat Hagler had to come form a different time and a different division. ...Marciano KO3 Leonard.
I didn't repeat the same idea at all. Not only do you suck at analyzing, but you suck at reading comprehension as well. Nice work.
LOL, yeah I suck at analyzing. You're a grandstanding little douchebag he wasn't talking about ****. Congratulations. There was a difference of slight degrees between what was being said. ****ing moron.
