Whitaker would win clearly was my first impression. I think his head movement and craft (holding, swiveling, ducking below the waist) would trouble Louis who could slip into rounds of single gear fighting with the same pace. Louis also had a very fundamental way of punching and steady, consistent approach to boxing; neither of which would surprise Pernell in my mind.

Way too many unknown variables for me to make a meaningful prediction here (though I appreciate it's just a bit of fun), but I will make 2 points:

    1. Of these 2, I rank Louis (#9) as the greater all time P4P fighter than Whitaker (#23).
    2. Conn neither ran from Louis, nor fought him in a style that remotely resembled that of Whitaker. Conn crowded Louis.

People really seem to forget the second part, though something tells me a lot of them didn't actually watch the fight.

Whitaker absolutely was a mover at times. Especially against better opposition.

And had proven that he could handle bigger men by beating other heavyweight contenders before fighting Louis.
Conn was the p4p best fighter on the planet when he fought Louis.
We saw what effect Joe's punches had on heavier guys anyway. It's not like Conn being bigger and gassing out faster would have benefited him.

Idk if Usyk or Joshua beat Bivol or Canelo I wouldn't be super impressed tbh even if they were the p4p best fighter on the planet

Neither Bivol nor Canelo have gone up to HW and beaten ranked fighters though.
Usyk has, like Conn once did and he beat fighters holding 25+ lbs over him.

You sure about that? From the footage He fought on the backfoot and used his movement so that Louis couldn't plant his feet and punch and when he went in close he clinched and let out combinations. He only crowded him in the 12 and 13th when he hurt Louis but that's also why he got knocked out lol. And honestly when he's fighting of the backfoot he's not fighting too different from how Whitaker fought at least from what I can see.

P4p, I would go with Pernell. Points of course. he seems to tricky and keeps his chin tucked low. Not much to hit and doesnt stay stationary

Yes, I'm sure that Conn neither ran from Louis nor did his approach in that fight remotely resemble Whitaker's style.

That view is held by everyone, and there are many on this forum to whom this applies, that has watched the Louis vs Conn fight, are familiar with Pernell's style and properly comprehend what they're looking at.

That you question this assertion, allied with other posts of yours I've read, in this thread and others, leads me to conclude there's a 90% chance you're a troll and a 10% that you're authentic, but don't have a clue.

Either way, I won't waste my time with you, so this is the first and last time I respond to one of your posts.

So you're basing this entirely off of what others have said and refuse to actually watch the fight yourself yet you think you can lecture me on it? Hilarious, imagine making an argument based entirely on Bandwagon logical fallacy and thinking that's a good argument while refusing to think for yourself and getting triggered when people actually watch fights and have a different opinion.
